Do I have good deal on my M340?

Leased it on 12/30/22
2023 M340i

4k cash on signing + 2000$ in perks. 12k miles. 800$ monthly.

If someone can tell me what the "money factor" is.

Thank you.

How cares if we think it is a good deal or not. You were comfortable enough with it to finalize it and that is all that matters. Good luck, enjoy and be safe.

The MF should be listed on your leasing contract and/or the detailed offer sheet. The base rate was .00180 in December.

I understand what's done is done, and im OK with the price.

Just wanted to know if the numbers were fair.

A lesson that I was taught 20+ years ago during my time in sales:
"You got a good deal if you are happy with it."

Of course, you could spin that with the old addage: "A good deal is when both parties involved are dissatisfied with the outcome"

"Fair" is very subjective. In the sense that everyone is paying between $800-$1200/mo. for M340 leases - sure, it's "fair".

That said, there have been plenty of people willing to pay significantly over sticker price for cars over the last two years, and I suspect they considered those deals "fair" as well.

Are you asking what the Money Factor represents or how much it should be? The Money Factor is the interest rate. Multiply it by 2,400 to convert it to an APR. It looks like the MF you got is .00174546. The interest rate is 4.1891.

I have no comment on whether you got a good deal, but here is a screenshot of how the numbers work out.

I’m not exactly sure what leases are looking like these days. With $4,000 down your effective monthly payment is a little over $900. $800 + $111 = $911. The general rule folks on BMW enthusiast forums will give you is not to put money down on a lease. A better use of your cash is to make Multiple Security Deposits to buy down the money factor.

I know car market is pretty crazy but 4k das for an effective $900 seems wild to me, talking like M3 pricing back when I signed my lease. Guess I should be thankful for my lease.

This is why leasing doesn't work in this crazy market....

Effective $911/mon for a $62k car is crazy compared to years and years of history before 2020.

I'm a fan of leasing but we bought our 2 new BMWs in the past 10 months because of this fact alone.

Leasing will most assuredly be back, just not sure when...

Buying is definitely cheaper right now. Leasing seems to have become a premium product.
