The release notes mention it comes with Alexa. Sadly mine has downloaded and prepared and seems reluctant to finish installing.

Yeah same as mine, but from what I know I need to drive for an hour for a battery charge, then park it and wait.
I was wondering if they maybe added improvements like Waze working on the instrument cluster or something.

When I updated to 07/2020, the battery charge needed to be close to 100%, this time it did appear as fussy. I uploaded from the phone and then dropped the kids at school this morning and after maybe 25 mins driving time it gave the option to kick off the process.

Only thing I’ve really noticed is the Alex integration. Will have to look if the Waze integration has improved.

Thanks! How can you see your battery percentage? Or do you just have to drive about a bit until it’s probably charged?

I don’t think you can. For the last update, i plugged the car in to a charger and left it overnight and then it was ready for download.

I drove for a few hours and when I parked it was ready without battery charging.

Do the updates wipe your Bimmercode coding? Its not a big deal to re-do the work, but just curious...

I just updated to 11/2020 and it appears I lost the option to create a rule to turn on the heated steering wheel. It now only gives me the option for the heated seats? Anyone else run into this?

Mine disappeared too. Haven’t had chance to see if it can be fixed through a reboot etc

Hm no idea, haven't done any coding besides video in motion but I still haven't applied the update because I won't be in town.

Ah, I just did a half hour drive. Maybe need to drive longer and try again.

A reboot didn't fix it, so looks like the automation only works for the seat. Hopefully not too many days below 5 deg now before they fix it!

Is there a workaround for this.. Mines ready to be updated but i don't want to loose this feature.

I can't understand why they would remove it!!!

I'm not sure they removed it intentionally. BMW's quality assurance seems to be appalling. I'd be happy to be a beta tester for them.

Not seen a fix yet, if you're not bothered for Alexa, might be worth skipping this update.

Is anyone on 03/2021 that confirm if this issue and the HUD issue is resolved? If so, will book in with the dealer.

Same happened after update on my M340i, in the winter country of Norway. Very annoying. This is not an update. It's a downgrade, or a bug that vitnes to little testing before launching.

Discovered this. If your update isn’t working, then it might be because it’s too cold. It’s 6°C here so can’t get the update working till maybe middle of next week when it starts to warm up.

Yeah, I think you’re right. They’ve used a em-dash rather than a minus sign, which confused me. Darn it. No idea why it hasn’t installed then. I’ve done a couple of longer drives to charge the battery of maybe 20-25 minutes (as I’ve definitely been driving it less in lockdown).

Just to check, the charger was for the standard 12V, you don’t have a plug in hybrid version?
