Wax on brake discs - argh!
Giving the M340i a quick wipe down this morning with meguirs wash and wax spray, as I do when the car hasn't been driven but it's been raining so not that dirty.
I think I've ended up getting a bit of overspray on the brake discs (probably only 1 of them) When I went out in the car after it was clear that I had as they are not as sharp. I've done a few brake 'tests' to a stop, granted only 2 or 3 and the drive I did was only 15/20 mins (dropping the car to local Sytner dealer to have ConnectedDrive fixed - hopefully) and they didn't seem to improve. I'm pretty certain that with some spirited driving/over a couple of days it will all burn off?? They get so hot after all I don't think it will have soaked through the pads... Obviously I can wipe down the discs with some brake cleaner when I get the car back later but I think some spirited driving will do it. Thoughts? |
