I would wait for the LCI model, I am sure it's going to look better. It's like the last two gen of 1 series, weird on launch nice on LCI.

For the folks saying the fenders aren't widened, it's just the quality of these pics. The fenders are absolutely wider than the G20

I disagree, as a fan of the process and someone that is always planning the buying and selling of cars, I like the build up to production at a slower pace. When a reveal is too early in comparison to actual production and delivery that long gap is much worse than releasing bits of information leading up to a reveal. Just my $.02

That is a hell of a tall front tire. It's so tall that it looks like a winter tire.

I didn't think these rims were gonna be one of the available options. They aren't too bad i guess...hoping the other options are much more aggressive.

Big brakes on the front and a really small rear caliper May mean energy recovery braking on the rear wheels on the e cars the charging system acts as a brake except for under 10mph and over 100 ( maybe on these the system works over 100mph).

Prefer the camo over any of the colors.

Nope just means an e brake like many BMWs including the ultimate incarnation M5 with large front callipers and floating single rear.

Just normal

Am I supposed to be impressed? Yeah they are wider than the g20, but barely, and don't make nearly the statement as the f80 rear fenders.

I see your point. It is just that BMW has been teasing everyone with here and there leaks. Honestly I just can't wait to see it in person already.

People who made those same comments about F80 spy pictures also thought they had it figured out too.

Sometimes if you're a little more patient and hold off on conclusions, it actually makes you smarter. I mean worst case - you missed that golden opportunity to show people how smart you are, right? But at the same time you don't risk looking any less smart either.

As i said before, if it works for a Mercedes AMG GT-R it should be sufficient for a G8x. Do the Merc Guys complain a lot about their cheapo Brakes? Honest question.

On most MB forums I've skimmed, people are typically complaining about how quickly their heavy cars get through pads and rotors. (and then how expensive they are to replace).

Looks like it's 275-35-19 in the front and 295-30-20 in the rear, that's stout, considering the current F80's rears are only 275-35-19!! Love wide wheels and thick tires but not a fan of the double stagger concept

The reasons for the roof camo can be summarized in two points:
1) If you pay close attention to the spy shots, you'll notice the roof's "double-bubble" has a different design than what we're used to from the F80, F90, etc.
From certain angles, the two lines, bubbles, or whatever you want to call it are much more sharp and defined.

2) The roof is an M-specific body panel on the G80 and you'll notice that BMW has not taken the camo off of any panel or area that has a specific M design. So far, the strip tease is limited to the doors, windows, and partial rear quarter before it forms the flared wheel arches as well as a very small part of the hood (the actual hood design is still in camouflage). That leaves all the M3 specific design elements still unrevealed (hood design, side skirts, front/rear bumpers, trunk-spoiler, roof, front fenders/side gills, rear wheel arches).
Good points
