Can I install paddle shifters in my 330e?

I have ordered the new 330e but my car will not come with paddles from the factory because I couldn't have that as an option.

Is it possible to install them afterwards like in the F30 3 series??

I ordered a 330e in April and I could choose with the sport automatic and paddle shifters.. and today I test drove a 330e that also had them at the BMW dealership here in Borås Sweden.. maybe it's different for other markets, but unfortunately I don't think you can mount them afterwards :/

I have had several vehicles with them and I never use mine

I tried ordering one without paddles and asked if I could install them afterwards if I wanted too, they said it was not possible

The paddles are standard here in Belgium with the 330e, even as the sportautomatic gearbox

I think dealers will almost always tell you that, unless they also specialize in retrofittings.

I guess if you swap the whole wheel and flash the gearbox you will be able to use the paddles, but that's not a simple tack-on thing like port-installed M-performance parts.

I've read a post about this guy who changed his manual shifting car into a automatic one. Changed the engine, gearbox and center console. I mean.. Anything is possible but you should consider if you want to put the money and effort in doing it.

That is simply not true. I took delivery of one with all options but not the M sport steering wheel. No paddle shifters.

It is common place for folks to buy a steering wheel with paddles and install it themselves as a DIY project with the F30 and may become a popular retrofit with the G20 with folks selling paddle shifter steering wheels on eBay or you can pay an Indy aftermarket garage to install it but this would be outside of BMW and not warrantied in any way unless maybe the Indy offers some sort of warranty. You would have to code for sport auto to enable the paddles.
