Steering intervention
I recently tried the steering intervention again. It seems like it's not as aggressive as it once was. Did BMW update it?

I tried it out when I had just picked up the car (running 11.2019 software at the time), and more recently on 7.2020. Quite aggressive both times. The car WANTS you back in the center of the lane.

There has been a couple of updates to it over the years. Luckily I have never experienced the aggressive behavior some report. It could be I understand what it is doing and also I have it set to Early which most report offer the best result.

I hope it's something that can be turned off. I test drove a 330e today and was on a road course (sort of) and was wondering why the heck the I was fighting with the steering wheel. So I looked down and saw the lane keeper symbol, but didn't know how to turn off. Little frustrating.

Depends on the market. In the EU (and UK) if you turn it off it turns itself back on again, but only for recent-ish builds. If your car is old enough this doesn't happen.
I believe it's a legal requirement for it to work like this. |

MattEcho ,
You can reduce effect of steering intervention and can turn off To reduce, go Car, Safety and Lane Departure When I go to track I press & hold the button with a car that has a green outline and select Turn All Off. Please note that this is not permanent, only for current session-- once you turn car off & then restart all safety systems are back to level that you set up Hope that helps!

Using a turn signal will disengage the system.

lol. but to agree with others, my lane keep is very aggresive. i had the same system on another car and it was much smoother, not abrupt and sudden. i thought it was just me.

We have a far number of on ramps around here that turn from two lanes to one when merging on the highway. That’s where I notice it the most. Could be because I usually don’t use a turn signal in that situation, as it’s a merge.
