Diesel's are dead !

Get ready for a 100% Electric 3er.
That couldn't be further from the truth, have you not heard about the new diesel emissions tech Bosch have developed, reducing emissions by 90%?:

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-new...-nox-emissions

And electric cars are horrendously bad for the environment, batteries requiring very scarce elements such as lithium and cobalt, the mining of both causes huge destruction of natural habitats, plus the recent news stories regarding the human rights abuses and child labor used to mine cobalt:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-tol...ndustry-congo/

Not to mention there isn't enough of either within the planet for everyone who currently owns a fossil fuel vehicle to have a battery vehicle, and on top of that even the most developed western countries do not have anywhere near the power infrastructure to cope with everyone charging their car each night.

Electric cars are a complete and utter dead end technology!
It's funny discussing EV with ICE fanboys.
First off- these batteries you are mentioning are allready yesterday tech. Lithium are beeing replaced by silisium, halfens the charging time, solid state batteries are the future. I know there are alot of countries that are going backwards into the future, so you can either deal with what's coming, or you can develeop and met the future.

I've had 6 BMWs, my last one was a 5 series wagon and it was hands down my favorite BMW. Please BMW, bring back the wagons and don't tell me the GTs are wagons, they are not.... The wagon on that render is gorgeous and will look amazing in M guise.

I won't buy another BMW till I can have another 5 series wagon in the US, but I may get that rendered wagon if it looks like that

Agree completely, the comments about poor F30 handling are typically from people who drive around town at 45mph and think the shitty steering feel = bad handling. I've had several E8x/E9x cars before the current F30 and the F30 blows every one of them out of the water in terms of cornering performance, balance, composure & damping over rough roads (with or even without the adaptive damping option) when the car is actually driven quickly or aggressively.

The E90 was a car that felt solid on the road and had nice steering feel at normal around-town speeds but when you actually pushed it hard, it fell apart quickly. It would understeer and its suspension couldn't absorb a damn thing without the rear jumping all over the place, the rear subframe mounting was too soft so the body would wiggle side to side on top of its suspension, the early generation runflat tires were just AWFUL, etc.

In pure stock form, my 340i is my favorite non-M BMW I've ever had and it isn't even a close contest.
In pure stock form, your 340 represents about 5 significant improvements to the car's suspension from its release in 2012. If you drove an early build 2013 335 like I did, you would see it for the POS it really was. Your 340 is another car entirely compared to the early build F30 335's. Trust me, I know....

Yes the new i3 will be the full EV of the 3er. But there will be additional PHEV iPerformance models available for those that still have range anxiety.

Really? I understood that a new models spec remains exactly as it was at introduction until LCI time, when revisions are made! After all they do road test the cars for at least two years prior to production!!

That used to be the case. The F30 underwent many revisions many which were not publicized. That is what happens when BMW puts out a crappy product that gets widely criticized.

Honestly Im not so sure if he really is, the character lines are right as well as the back of the touring but the face is all wrong. The previous bimmerpost rendering was much more accurate. He's also gotten a lot wrong in the past, like the Bayerische Motoren Werke black and white logo that was supposed to be on the 8er and x5, he even called it a propellor. Its not a propellor, its the Bavarian flag, that is BMW 101 that he got wrong.

F30's received the 5 bolt front suspension top mounts a few months before LCI, then at LCI they got the revised dampers.

Also ID5 was fitted a few months after LCI, then ID6 a year later (before LCI2)

You're right, but my current car is not the only F30 we've had in the family. Not counting M cars since those are a different story, on the Exx side we had 2007 328i, 2011 135i, 2011 328i, 2013 335is and on the Fxx side we've had a 2012 328i, 2015 328i, and now two 2016 340is (my parents loved mine the few times I've let them borrow it so they just got one for themselves).

The improvements from 2012 to present are very noticeable (and were very welcome) but I still liked the way the early F30 drove when driven aggressively over the E90s.
