The Acura Beak stayed for 10yrs - they finally saw the light and the new designs with their diamond grill look much better.
Lexus Predator grill is a disaster and is close to being on its way out. Why BMW followed footsteps of looser brands is beyond me? Take lessons from Porsche and MB! Basically the great BMW design features are all changed for the worse: 1) kidney grill = disaster 2) angel / halo eyes = only if u get optional laser lights 3) Hofmeister kink = who needs that, lets copy Lexus/Infiniti |

If the Mercedes C class ever gets rid of that screen that looks like an Ipad glued onto the dash board I might consider it now that I have seen the super kidney 4 series.

I honestly find MB's absurdly large 3 pointed star badge on the grilles is more offensive than Audi/Lexus/BMW large grilles lol. I do agree with your final point that the Hoff Kink should not be abandoned, but it seems that, at the very least, they are being very loose with their interpretation of it. |

I like it, bold and aggressive. You have to step our of your comfort zone in car design or cars will all look alike (New 3 series/Lexus IS). If you want the same cup of tea (design wise) year after year, just get a 911

in just over 1 1/2 days and 38 pages of posts, the BimmerPost community has made its view of the grills clear with typical subtlety==>

The goal for a redesign of an iconic car is to advance the existing design language in a way that is contemporary and fresh, but still consistent with the designs that precede it. It can be a bunch of subtle changes that when taken as a whole translate into a clear evolution. The F32 has classic coupe proportions and a nicely integrated, balanced, thoughtful design. Its aesthetic shortcomings are limited to the interior, which is a little dated and pedestrian compared to other offerings in the segment. That's where BMW should have spent its time and money.
This new design represents a huge risk for them, and I admire the balls it took, but the car is objectively just homely as fuck. |

There's a man who actually put his money where his mouth was and showed up to the BMW Welt in Munich and set fire to and/or destroyed his BMWs after being very dissatisfied.
I wrote about this man a while back: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1423944 Here's his E65/66 7er up in flames in broad daylight in front of BMW.

It could've been so great. Overall design is nice. Except yeah, that grill. But also, the more I looked at it the more it looked like a mustang. Keep looking, haha.

Maybe the big grill would work if the shape was not so bad. But all those corners and the geometric shape of it? No thanks. This grill does not flow like the Lexus.
This is worse than the 7 series. |

I think I can live with the F80/F82 hoodline now.
As kids, you would put up a posters of your dream car on your wall. So here it goes: ...think about this for a sec... Which one would you want to look back and kiss goodnight?
