best price on a 2023 M340ix
Hello - I'm zeroing in on a new M340ix and want to make sure I get the best pricing. I live in NJ and found a wide range from different dealers:
I can also claim the $750 loyalty perk if I finance some amount (and pay it off after 4 months). Has anyone been able to get below MSRP? Where? Rob |

MSRP seems to be the going price. You do not need to wait four months before you pay it off, you can do that at any time however if you do it prior to making three payments then the dealer is charged for the incentives. Most people wait at least three months to pay it off so their dealer is not dinged.

Wait for month/year-end incentives?
Should I hold off on my purchase until year-end? Are there any worthwhile 'deals' anticipated? 'December to remember'? (or is that MB?).

My theory is that the days of big lots of new cars is essentially over. The car manufacturers have no incentive to go back to how things used to be. Think of the costs associated with new car lots: property tax, security, insurance, maintenance, snow removal, washing cars, etc. Additionally, full lots means selling below sticker. Under the new model, dealers will keep enough new car inventory on hand for test drives and the occasional/lucky walk-up buyer. They will focus on used and CPO cars to people who *need a car right now*, and will sell new cars at sticker to those who are willing to wait. Buyers get exactly what they want because every car is coming straight from the factory. I think we'll see an improvement in time from order to delivery... but I suspect that in the future most new cars be custom ordered, arrive in 4-6 weeks, and cost MSRP. (Also, if I worked in a car dealership, I'd make sure that I was not the low man or woman on the totem pole... and if I were, I'd start looking for a job elsewhere. Almost the entire process can be done online.) |

My goal is to finance for the negotiation and just pay it off right away. If they won't budge on MSRP even a bit on a fully loaded M340i, I'll pay cash and never buy another car with that particular dealer nor service my car there. Not sure if that's an overreaction tbh, would love some thoughts. It just feels like I'd rather do business with a dealer who will give you even a tiny win in that scenario to try and get your future business than one who gives you nothing because they feel like they've got all the power. |

MSRP, but what about fees
OK, so MSRP for a 2023 M340ix... but what is considered good for fees? I'm really surprised how close the totals are. Can I push on the Doc fees? Seems like pure profit.
Here are my 2 NJ examples: Dealer1 + 60665.00 MSRP + 599.85 Doc fees + 4058.80 NJ tax + 423.16 Govt/DMV fees - 750.00 Loyalty rebate = 64996.81 Total Dealer2 + 60665.00 MSRP + 599.00 Doc fees + 4058.74 NJ tax + 424.55 Govt/DMV fees - 750.00 Loyalty rebate + 0.00 (2700 in dealer extras i won't buy) = 64997.29 |

No big deal my man.. It could have been worse. San Antonio wanted 1% above MSRP plus numerous fees. OTD price was a little over 70k. I guess they figure they can charge whatever they want being they are the only dealership here in San Antonio.

I may end up refinancing with a different credit Union down the road Debating if wheel and tire package for an extra $2500 (2 years) is worth it.

'23 330i xDrive 36mo/7.5k mi Lease
Placed an order for a new 2023 330i xDrive, estimated delivery date of mid-February. Trading in my old car and leasing 36 months, 7.5k miles/yr. This will be my first car (previous car was handed down from my parents) so I'm very excited lol.
Managed to get a VIP certificate, which sets the price of the car at $1.5k below the invoice price (what the dealer pays). BMWNA comps the dealership the $1.5k.
With all taxes and fees rolled in, and with a trade-in value of $14,250, I'm looking at $315.88/mo, with nothing due at signing. Of course, that'll probably go up a little bit as my old car will have to be reappraised when I start the lease, but hoping its value doesn't drop drastically. Don't really like that I couldn't get the trade-in value locked in, but can't complain - it's the only way they're making money off of me lol. If they lowball me when the new car comes in, I'll just sell independently or something. |

Two questions:
1. You gave them a $14,250 down payment toward a lease? 2. How did you score a VIP certificate? |

2. I have family member who’s pretty high up at BMWNA, I believe it’s part of their Family & Friends program. |

Yeah, I completely agree and normally wouldn’t even consider putting anything down on a lease due to risk in the event of total loss. The thing is, it’s technically not my car and I’d feel kind of scummy selling it just to pocket the cash. I’ve been considering trying to convince my parents on that. I’ve only placed a buy order, haven’t signed a lease agreement yet so I’ll reach out to my SA to see if I can sell it outright, and just pay the higher monthly. Thanks for the input! |

Yep, they're cool with it. Actually, I plan on just sticking it into a high-yield savings account to earn a decent amount of interest over the course of the lease. Confirmed with my SA today and got a way better offer on my old car after being appraised by another dealer. So all in all, I'm paying 10 bucks a month less (even with the additional interest and taxes) out of my own pocket and I don't have to put anything down, win-win. Thanks for the advice everyone

Datapoint from IL (chicago metro).
I checked in with multiple dealers and they are all holding firm around $1100/mo for 36/10, $65k MSRP m340ix. This more or less amounts to MSRP w/ slightly marked up money factor. One dealer even gave me an identical quotes for nov and dec... even after dec introduced $1k lease rebate & reduced money factor. Hah. dealer is just pocketing the difference. BMW production delays making life easy for dealers and enough demand to keep prices high. As much as i like the G20... it think i'll be putting off buying or leasing for minimum 6 months. |
