G20 330e brake options
Good morning all,
Have a 2019 330e mSport with a Celtic tuning stage one. Really enjoying the car, however always felt the brakes are a little lacking. Done some googling (which is how I came across the forums!) and couldn't find an exact answer to my question, which is two fold really. Firstly, are the brakes any different on the 330e than other 3 series (i.e with the brake regen) - or, are they all the same? Second - I'm pretty sure that mine has the entry level brakes (grey, smaller calipers). Looking at some of the upgrades on the likes of ebay/gumtree - they show the larger caliper versions (blue/red) are these a direct replacement, or is any other work needed in order for them to fit? (i.e new hubs) Many thanks in advance. |

Currently in the same boat as the OP. Strange going through parts lists on RealOEM only to find the brake booster is a non common component on the G20 hybrid vs what’s on the petrols. (34336889793) is what we have if your car came with the standard grey calipers but doesn’t seem to recommend a different one based on spec. Ive also found the vacuum pump is routed differently and may also be different considering we have to operate the brakes when driving in electric only mode etc. The slave is however the correct one and ready for the conversion. I’ll continue to dig and hopefully someone with spec msport Caliper could dig into the engine bay and see if the boosters are the same!

Updateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee: managed to get my hands on a 330e optioned with the Msport calipers (Not Mperformance). Anyways the brake booster is the same with identical part numbers when compared with mine and so is the master cylinder (I took photos). As far as I’m understanding should be a straight swap. Will be doing the conversion later this year when it’s a little warmer and will update. If I forget, someone drop me a message if yall need help. 😈
