Functionality · The grilles glow when the car is opened, while driving and before it is locked. (US Only) · The LED lights are integrated in the radiator grille so that the frame and the bars are illuminated with white light from above. · The lights illuminate the area in front of the car. This area can therefore be illuminated while climbing in and out of the car.

I just purchased a 2020 M340i which came fully optioned (including the Iconic Glow front Grille). However I would like to change to a GLOSS Black (Diamond pattern) front grille.

Can anyone tell me if the lighting is actually attached to the removeable front grille itself, or the structure behind it ??

If attached to the Grille itself, I suspect that the grille must also be a different MODEL that the 'Non-Glow lighting' optioned models.
