VRSF Catless DP on 2023 M340i

Finally got the chance to install my DP, and my god it was a very worth purchase. Install was pretty simple, and that’s coming from someone who has never worked on a car before. It’s surprisingly quiet still tbh for being catless, but I assumed it would be since the 2023s are so restricted.

Pretty sure it was closed. I didn’t actually get in the car yet so it was in comfort.

Sounds really good, if you ever plan to do the exhaust flapper valve trick, you're going to really open that exhaust up and it'll sound real nice.

Nah, idk why people do that. The valves are a must, especially in Cali. See a cop, eco mode and car is silent.

I just told you why people do that (me for one), to keep the exhaust open all the time, that way you can enjoy the exhaust sound in comfort or eco. No need to go Sport+

I don't think the car is loud enough to attract the cops, unless you're stressing over not having a cat......

Ah, that’s actually a really good point. Idk if the car is loud enough to attract cops, but I don’t wanna take the chance. Cops in HB where I am are kinda assholes sometimes when it comes to cars.

Wish there was more than 5 seconds of the car idling from cold. Please post a longer video sometime so we can hear more of it.

I got the same setup. I did the valve "hack". Sounds perfect in Sport or Sport Plus.

It’s a vrsf catless dp, so yeah it throws a cel. It was only $300, people are gonna tell you to go with AA or some other expensive option, but if you don’t care about the cel just save your money and go vrsf. There are definitely more pops and burbles, but our cars are ver restricted from factory so they are very quiet and almost inaudible if you have music on. They only happen at very low rpm or sometimes when you do a pull. I took this rev clip, but I’m pretty sure the valve just stayed open the whole time so I never posted it, but here you go. There was a guy on here who has a 23 who did high flow catted dp paired with an m performance exhaust and his pops were noticeably louder, so it’s more the muffler restricting the pops I think.

Thanks for replying. By any chance do you know the other brand name that will not throw a cel after installing? My mom also borrows my car and when she sees any code she swears the car is broken lol. But anyways touching on your last point the person I found a video of he also had a muffler delete done on his 23’ but I’m not sure if that’s even needed if valves are all the way open on sport plus any thoughts on that?

I personally just don’t like doing muffler deletes on cars in general, so I wouldn’t. The brand that won’t throw is active autowerke. There are others, but I don’t know off the top of my head.

Oooooooo, congrats! Def put up some sound clips for us when you get that installed cause that’s gonna sound amazing. I’m still torn on whether or not I wanna get an exhaust at all. Rn I’m pretty content with just the catless dp since I know nothing else will provide pops and bangs besides an unlock. I’m planning on buying a jb4 and intake this week, then after that’s it’s either wheels or exhaust. Most likely wheels though cause I haven’t been loving my stocks lately.

Yeah dude, I wish there was a state side unlock option because I need my car everyday for work so sending the ecu isn’t really an option atm. Your cars gonna sound insane, can’t wait to hear it. I got an instagram for the car when I got it, but i posted one picture when I got the car and basically never used it after that 😂. It’s that_fake_m.
