From what I've been told is that the Genius line can't see any stop sales. They always refer those questions to the CA.

FYI, when my car arrived at the VDC on 12/20, the Genius told me it was scheduled to be shipped to the dealer on 12/24. That time has since passed and the Genius still sees it as being scheduled to be shipped 12/24...

Finally got my production number.

Placed the order for my M440i Conv on Dec 3 - they apparently just got an allocation so it's a go!

Now the anticipation and impatience begins!

Today marks 3 weeks at the VDC and no one from BMW's side can tell me when I can expect the stop sale to be closed out. Pretty insane for a $60k car. They either have no clue what they're doing or just don't care to setup a process to convey accurate information to customers.

Ordered my M440i here in the UK in early November. Looking like it's being built in Week 14, and I can probably expect it around 19-21 April.

I asked about a couple of things:

Deletions:

He's had very few affected by the Touchscreen deletion and does not think that will be an issue for my car as it seems to have been overcome, but he's not had formal confirmation of that.

He's aware (at the moment) of one potential deletion - idrive touch function on all models (this is the finger driven input on top of the iDrive controller) but can't say if mine will be affected at that point in time. (This is not a deal breaker for me - mine is a RHD car, and as a right handed person, I've literally never successfully used the touch input on the idrive controller!).

Wifi/Carplay - temporary limitation is possible (affecting current deliveries) - will be reenabled by OTA software update. Probably resolved by the time mine is built.

I asked also about Anniversary Emblems - he's heard nothing through the dealer network about these yet, but has seen the press releases - nothing on his options configurator yet to be able to add these, but he's not aware if they'll be factory standard, or optional as yet.

It now at least feels real - always a risk it will be delayed/or brought forward, but good to have a date.

I did not order my car but bought from the dealers stock (allocation?) a 2022 m340 x-drive in late November. The car was already built and received at the Baltimore VPC in early October with a work order created on 10/15 to address the RAM retrofit stop sale. Was planing on taking deliver 1/3 but no movement on the work order to date. The CA has been worthless the whole time with no information except if I want to walk away I can.

All of this makes me think of that Lucile Ball show (also a meme) where she's working the chocolate candy production line and the candies are coming out of the machine so fast that she can't keep up. She sticking the candies in her hat, in her shirt, eating some....

I can just picture all these cars rolling off the assembly line, and the guys outside having no idea where to put them while they're waiting on parts. Some are at the port, some are at the factory (mine) and some are at the VDCs in the various countries...

If you live near the plant, you might get a free car if you're in the right place at the right time...

I’m in a similar situation, except the car I have my name on has been in Baltimore since only mid December. I was expecting it to be out of there any day now. Your situation tells me I may have to wait a while longer than I was thinking. No fun.

Over 2 weeks since arrival December 25 2021 and still waiting at VPC.
