Ok so I finally got the car to update to 07/2020.54 by charging the battery all day, my 10 minutes trips just weren't enough.
I understand as above there is a November update. The car says there is no more updates :-( Mine is a March 2020 G21 M340i, anyone else got the November update on a G21 M340? I'm wondering whether to try and get a dealer to force it to update if the OTA update is not going to appear! |

The 11/2020 is the latest update but I believe only done by the dealer. I am on 11/2020.45 installed by the dealer as my OTA was never triggered for the last 15 months. The number 45 is not related to an earlier or later version but depends on your car and particularly the combination of extra features. It is just a software number.

Hi. Nope, still stuck with the same message. I’ve pretty much given up on it. It’s used every day (plus charging the battery). It goes in for a service in a few weeks so I’ll insist it’s done then

Glad its sorted. Does seem pretty ridiculous that after spending 40k+ on a motor, you also need to buy a battery charger to keep the thing on the road and up to date. Seems CTEK are doing a roaring trade from G2x owners.
Granted most driving less miles at the moment, but that doesnt seem to have been your issue... and I dont hear owners of other car makes grumbling, either within friends/family or at work. I've never owned a battery charger in my life (and I've had some pretty average cars) so a little miffed that I may have to own one now to keep this expensive bit of kit going.

Well up to a point. An AGM battery is bloody expensive and BMW should specify one with adequate capacity for modern demands. So a modern gel battery with BCM is entirely different to a lead-acid job in a “4K car”. It clearly does not have sufficient capacity.
