Yes, but the RS e-tron GT will be based on the same innovative but expensive 800V architecture as Taycan. I would be genuinely shocked if the base price started below 150k USD.
My guess is that Audi will undercut the Taycan by about $20-$30k and be about 20-30hp down on the Taycan Turbo S. Just speculation of course, I will probably be wrong and it will start at $150-$160k, about $30k out of my price range.

Not a good sign...

The inevitable i4 vs Mach E comparison test reviews will be interesting.
And yet...

. Our roads are in general bumpy and undulating almost everywhere you go, although the fairly recent new section motorway not far from me is an exception, so poor chassis can show themselves up pretty quickly.

BMW needs to be careful b/c the Model Y will start to take BMW's SAV sales, if it hasn't already, especially the X3's. I think BMW may be in for a rude awakening soon b/c I don't see how the iX is going to convince anyone to switch to a BMW EV.

what a disgusting design. I'm not so sure you can even call it design. The whole BMW EV dept. is laughable.

I think you're misunderstanding; the i4 wasn't designed by the EV department, this is a G26 4 Grand Coupe ICE body with a few optical changes by the EV department that aren't even visible yet through the cameo...

So I found some renders of the 2021 4 series Gran Coupe (ICE) model and found this. If this is the i4 I'm back in the game however if BMW releases the i4 as rendered in white.....I'm out.

Well, seeing how the second one is just an 8GC with a 4er's face, its pretty much guaranteed to not be that. It will look similar to the i4 Concept.

I am sure it is closer to one in blue, if it is close to white one, nobody will buy it. Even if BMW's decission making has been subpar in recent times, even they cant be that stupid, or can they?

Speculation about the price (i4 M50 or whatever it is called):

Cheapest Taycan 80k
4s Taycan 104k

Audi's must undercut these prices (albeit, different specs, 0-60 and standard options) by 20-30k. So 4s (ish) performance must be 85-95k.

i4 M50 will have similar performance to 4s, but better range. But in real world there would not be peeps buying BMW at same price than Porsche. And if you go with Audi you pretty much get Porsche with discount. Thus, BMW must undercut Audi's price by another 10-20k to be competitive?

Of course those cars are in different segments but still they cant ignore each others pricing.

Wait so BMW must undercut Audi’s price by 10-20k because Audi is now a “Porsche with discount”? Interesting. Besides, there will for sure be a fully fledged i4M.
