Listers BMW Boston - M340i Issue
So after months of being unhappy with the really stiff suspension (to the point of being uncomfortable) crashing over speed bumps and pot holes etc. I noticed the ride height looked high at the front. Low and behold they have not removed the front suspension transport/shipping chocks from the front shock absorbers. No wonder it get stiff and the adaptive suspension settings all felt the same.
Really poor PDI inspection from the team at Boston. I would have thought the chock removal would have been on part of a check list? Any ideas what type of damage this could cause? |

That's shocking!
(See what I did there?) I'd be complaining to the sales manager or dealer principle - that's completely unacceptable. Extremely unlikely to have damaged anything but has affected your enjoyment of the car for months!

If you want to lay it on thick, this could change the entire dynamics of the car, including stability systems, crash safety systems etc.
And I'm pretty sure that this 'modification' to the car's set up would cause your insurance to be invalid if it wasn't declared and you were in an accident. You're welcome...

Tell the dealer you want to get your PDI charge refunded at the very least

Dont let a dealer wriggle out of this, you should get straight onto BMW UK regarding this!

I would get BMW UK involved. That is unforgiveable.
I'm not saying it's your fault, but how was it not spotted just by looking at the car?! Surely BMW staff would see it on delivery and think "that doesn't look right". It's pretty obvious when the delivery blocks are still installed. |

Snakedogm340 My car was PDI'd before it even got to the dealers - I think this is the BMW way now so it may not be the dealer's fault.
I've never driven a car with those blocks in so can't say how easy it is to spot but it may be that they wouldn't notice just moving it around their site before handing it over to you. Still think you should get some service discounts / freebies though.
