Thanks - literally just seen that too after I did some searching - will do that today.

I also broke some of the HUD yesterday anyway by coding the tyre pressure display in the instrument cluster so I’ll remove that.

Above coding applied and now it’s all fixed - I noticed it added a new menu where you configure it to ‘automatic’ and it’s all good - thanks!

Tyre pressure display removed too - shame they don’t work together and cause HUD issues but the pressure widget was only a nice to have 😃

Same here. The release notes were somewhat unhelpful as to what will change, ie too vague. Let us know if you spot anything.

Not experienced an OTA update. What's the process? Does it search, find, download and then install only once stationary?

Should get a notification on your MYBMW app that the OTA download has started, when it finishes downloading you need to connect to the car whilst it uploads the update to the car. When it's finished uploading you will get a message telling you it will update when it can. You need your battery to be at optimum charge otherwise it won't update, can be a pain in the arse at times.

You should get a message when it's ready to update when you stop the car and it will ask you do you want to update. When it's started updating you can leave and lock the car and let it get on with it.

No sign of an update on the app or in the car. I don't think this update fixes the HUD sport display so not in too much of a rush to download it as everything is working fine

I got the notification last night of the new software update and it’s currently installing.

Reading the release note of the update, there’s nothing really of great interest (for me anyway) but if it’s an update, best to do it.

Was in the car for 3 hours and it got to 56% preparation, saying it would speed things up if downloaded on the app. Got home and it downloaded over wifi on the app in about 3 minutes. Went out again for 15 minutes, with wifi and Bluetooth connected and it still stuck at 56%. It seems that it is down to "apps - connection required".

Is there an easy way to solve this, or is it a question of spending hours on google? Given all permissions on my mobile

Welcome to OTA.

You basically need to ensure the battery is fully charged, the car is on level ground, more than half but less than three quarters of fuel in the tank, there's a south westerly breeze, your neighbours dont have any washing out and the last meal you ate was sausages. Then it may start to work (although probably wont)

So basically are you saying OTA is glacially slow, and the app is a complete pile of sh**? I couldn't really care less if the apps are connected or not, other than that is seemingly how it updates. So I reckon 3 hours to do 56% of a 423mb file is something like 22 kb/s.

Frankly it would be so much easier if they allowed the update via USB rather than OTA. I plug my VIN in on BMW website and it says "No update is necessary. The software of your BMW will be updated automatically." That's great....in theory. But if it is piss poor in practice, why not just give the option for good old fashioned USB rather than being too clever for their own good? Or at least the option to do it that way.

Just updated to latest version and it remembers last setting for lane assist.

Anyone know if they will do the same, remember last setting, to petrol stations maps?

Well, managed to get it updated. Had to uninstall and reinstall app on phone to get it talking to the car. Went much more quickly.

Still should have USB option. I suspect when I next get in, I won't notice anything different at all.

Trying to do the OTA update from my Android device but the myBMW app shows it's not connected to my car. Meanwhile, I have wifi and Bluetooth both connected and android Auto has been working perfectly. I removed the device from the car and reconnected it with the same result. Any other android people out there experience this issue?

And when using the App to download make sure you are not downloading when only WiFi is used. When I switched this option off in the App it started downloading soon afterwards.
AND - i know its been noted before - but it remembers you want Lane Departure Warning off!!

Yup. Had the same. Spent far too long trying to get App connected.

I deleted app off Android and reinstalled it and it worked fine.
