2023 m340i

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
I purchased this car brand new about 3 weeks ago. I had never driven one but heard great things about it. I put a non refundable deposit on the car to hold it at the dealership. Long story short, after the 1200 miles break in period, the car is not for me. I should have went with an M3 with a manual transmission. So I figured I'd try to sell it here. I just had brand new Michelin PS4S tires installed as well, bc the Bridgestone stock run flats were terrible. Portimao blue, brown real leather interior with the adjustable bolsters in the driver's seat, shadowline trim, 19 in wheels and parking asset package. The car currently has about 1700 miles onnit and has nothing wrong, I just would prefer the M3, and I'm not willing to let the dealer kill me on a trade. MSRP was almost $62 plus all the dealer fees etc. If you have been looking for a new m340i for a bargain this is it. If i dont sell it I will put money into coil overs and make it mine, but i figured id see if there is any interest first. Feel free to dm with any questions.

I am pretty interested in this but I am currently not in the country and won't be back until early Feb 2023. If you're willing to hold it until then I might consider this over buying new.

It would help if you could post the sticker with all the options on it and the final price you bought it at.

I made an account just to reply here so I can't PM yet.

Ok. I'll get a picture of the sticker. But the mileage will go up as I continue to drive it.

Did you not try telling the dealer to take it back? I'm sure if you buy the M3 from them they can try and make something happen. It's not like they're losing your business.

I tried, but they want me to lose an unreasonable amount if money. So I figured I'd check to see if there's any interest here

Wow that is really bad luck. Car looks great even though I think BMW messed up the 2023 model. Good luck with sale.

Sorry to hear you're not enjoying the car as much as you thought you'd be.

Yeah, I went through a similar experience. I only realized how much i hated the car after the break-in period. Mine only had less than 5k miles, but they only offered me $48k on the $60k, which I ordered through them, the local only BMW dealer. I find it is ridiculous, and kinda feel like a rip off. When customers want to sell/trade-in the vehicle the appraisal comes at or under KBB value stating "oh it's the kbb value" (or something similar), and then they resell that particular vehicle with an over priced tag stating "oh it's the resale market for used cars these days", etc.

That's exactly where I'm at. Just got done with the break in and its not nearly aggressive enough for me. But I don't want to lose my shirt either. I guess I'll try to put coilovers and away bars on it, maybe that will help control the body roll. Unless it sells here by some miracle, ill be keeping it atleast a for a few years to try to get out from under the initial shock.

Yup. I went to the school of life when I was 19 years old for a similar situation.

I've never heard the lines "dealer" and "helped me when I needed it" in the same sentence. LOL

What is your goal here in disparaging me? I was agreeing with you that dealers aren't here to help anyone out but themselves. Since it seems you're having trouble with reading comprehension; I was taking your side.

You should ask the dealer if they would take on consignment

Reading comprehension definitely appears to have been an issue.

That is the biggest "issue" with this car. They could not make it compete with the M3 so made it fat and sloppy in the turns. I do think suspension will completely change this car for sure. It has the power but gives you zero confidence in the bends. Keep it an save the uplift and put 2k into it and drive the shit out it!

They made it a luxury sedan with the wheels/tires. After putting MSS springs plus the lighter wheels and bigger tires the car feels like a TRUE sports sedan. The steering feels precise and heavy. Theres tons of feedback through the wheel now instead of it feeling like you were floating on a cloud. The springs decreased body roll but it felt just as soft as stock suspension before adding the wheels/tires. I could turn the wheel with 1 finger before lol. The ride is of course worse due to the much larger tires but I drove 600 miles in 1 trip and I dont regret the swap. My girlfriend doesnt agree with the changes but from a drivers perspective its perfect. I have so much more confidence in the car now.

If it was my car I would modify it and then decide before throwing away $10k+
