Price Paid for Used M340i
What are folks paying for a used M340i? Now that it’s out for a few years and a few lease returns are making it back, will be good to track pricing.
Trying to find a 2020 M340i, here is one that I found in Portomac Blue M340i - Driver assistance package and driver plus package, premium package, Harmon Kardon 10k miles for $46k with 1 year extra warranty. Is it a good price? |

That’s not a bad price for a CPO with 10k miles. It’s not great, but not bad. Pretty average.

I just paid $53K for a very clean nicely optioned 2021 CPO with 8900 miles on it. 2 years ago I would say that's a not a great deal. In today's market, I feel like I got a decent deal. I spent about 3 weeks aggressively looking for a car and this was the best one I found. |

It depends some on your local market. I would say $44k would be a really good price. I Googled Asgard. I’m guessing you don’t actually live there.

Actually, California generally has some of the best prices, because 3ers are a dime a dozen out there. I have found BMW of San Francisco frequently has very nice M340i’s at quite good prices.

I’m going to amend my statement. I was just looking at M340i’s out there. Wow. It looks like prices have been rising. I’m seeing prices $2k - $3k higher than I saw just a couple of months ago when I was really shopping hard.
Is the car you’re looking at at BMW of Mountain View?

Have you seen this one at BMW of San Francisco? It seems to be priced well for a 2021 and it is very well equipped. https://www.bmwsf.com/inventory/cert...u9c08mfk52332/
I appreciate that BMW SF gives you a ton of information about their CPO cars on the website. They even show the completed CPO Inspection Checklist. Are you aware of BMW’s CPO search site? https://www.bmwusa.com/certified-pre....html#/results

I'm hoping the market comes down sometime later this year. I need to be in the 30's. 40k+ is just too much to spend on a car.

Supply and demand on these vehicles will never be in our favor: production was curtailed from March 2020 until pretty much the present.
As a result, there's a massive net shortage used vehicles which is going to persist for at least another ~4 years, or, until consumers go on strike and stop buying. So, while tax refund season is done, I really wouldn't expect any significant savings - you'll have to search hard for the needle in the haystack and jump immediately if you do. |

Fortunately the dealership I dealt with also owns a Honda dealership as well so they were able to buy the lease out at my price. Honda, like many other car brands want their leased cars back in this current market and many large third party used car dealerships aren’t allowed to buy the leases out at the previously negotiated price. I looked at it like I was playing with some of the houses money which made the deal more palatable to me. Good luck out there. These cars are hard to come by and in this current climate, dealerships aren’t moving on prices.

I got a CPO 2020 xdrive 28k miles, mostly stock, only option was interior light, and new tires last month for $41,750 negotiated down from $44,000. 10k miles is pretty good. I told them my budget is $x, and I want to upgrade x, y, and z, tune, etc and this is how much that will all cost so I can only spend $x
