IMHO Touring wagons are always more stylish than sedans, even better than coupes.
G21 looks great again.

I wish BMW would do whatever it took to bring even a limited number of these to US. Charge enough extra to make a profit and keep enthusiasts happy. They could even do a limited different model each year with zero options to keep costs and you get what you get. Maybe something like:
year 1: 330i + 8AT year 2: m340i xdrive + 6mt year 3: m3 rwd + 6mt year 4: etc... |

Thanks for nothing BMW NA.
This is our only option in the US... which isn't a bad option:

Absolutely criminal that this isn't coming to the States.
Would buy one any day before an X1, 2 or 3. The fact that Americans don't have a preference for wagons anymore, makes them that much more appealing for an enthusiast.

I think G21 could be successful in the US. It's just BMW sees greater profitability in X3 sales and prefers not to dilute the sales focus.

It's too bad my fellow americans are dumb and won't buy sportwagons. I'd have loved to have an M340i G21 in Portimao or Tanzanite Blue.

I just came across this article that actually tells the story of how many 3 series tourings have been sold... and I am rather surprised that with the 3 series GT being killed that BMW still has no plans to bring a touring to the US...
of course.. a touring here.... would limit production for elsewhere... which clearly is needed... How many BMW 3 Series Touring models have been sold since 1987? |
