Has anyone taken delivery of a recent build M440 xdrive (G22) recently and can advise what tyres they had fitted? I have just purchased and build is tomorrow in Germany, so probably 8-12 weeks away. But while I was in the dealer I noticed they had a G23 convertable they had Bridgestones on. Not sure if that is what they are currently shipping, was hoping not.
Spec sheet just says Runflats, doesnt list type. |

I’m suss I am going to miss out as the build sheet has “run flats” listed. May come down to rim choice affecting tyre as I know on the configurator some wheels change between run flat and not. Sadly it was configured ready for build by the time I ordered. Will find out in a few weeks I guess and advise.

Just to circle back. I just picked up my M440i xdrive today. Love it. It came with the bi colour wheels and ended up with Pirelli pzero runflats. Would have preferred non run flat but happy with the pzero over the usual Bridgestones.

Enjoy your new toy. You’ll just LOVE that engine no matter what tyres you have fitted!

My recently purchased 330i has Pirelli P Zero RFTs. This is my first experience of run-flats. It's perhaps invidious to make back-to-back comparisons between different cars, but I don't find the P Zeros much noisier than the (nearly new) Michelin PS4s on my Jaguar XF. The ride is harder even in Comfort setting, but that could well be the car (M Sport, adaptive suspension). On the Jaguar - which has adaptive dampers - the PS4s are noisier and slightly harder-riding than my previous Dunlop SP Sport 01(J)s but its worth the trade-off as they're so much grippier, especially on wet roads, and the steering is a noticeable improvement in all conditions - more fluid and communicative. I haven't driven on the P Zeros in the wet as yet, so I'll be interested in the comparison on familiar roads.

On my F30 I used both Continental and Bridgestone 18” runflats, inflated to the recommended 32/35, and it had a very comfortable ride. On my current 2021 M340i I have 19” Pirelli P7 runflats, inflated to the recommended 38/43, and I am not impressed with the ride and roughness at low speed. However, they are relatively smooth and quiet at highway speeds.
I don’t know if it’s the runflat design, switch to 19” tires, or the higher tire pressures, but I do wonder if standard tires would improve the ride. However, it’s a lot of expense to start experimenting by buying new tires when the original tires are still fine. I do wish I had chosen the adaptive suspension option, since it was only $500. However, the dealer I ordered from couldn’t tell me much about how it worked, and was definitely not pushing the option. I enjoy the relative simplicity of using runflats. If my wife (or I) have a flat and happens to be on a bridge, in a tunnel or on a very busy road I can just tell her to drive to someplace safe and call for help. She will not be waiting by the side of the road. If I’m way out in the middle of nowhere and have a non-catastrophic flat (tire still rolls okay) I can either drive on the flat or milk it along by using the inflator I carry in the truck. |

Should be a need to be all for help. They are rated for 50 miles ( from my own experience they cover a lot more than that buys presumably at your own risk) and you then arrange to get a replacement tyre
They sound great but 50 miles is not that much and may be less than your destination potentially |
