Recommendations please. I want to take precautions and the dash cam could be handy.

Thank you

Fitcamx; integrates well into the rear-view mirror housing.

I’m running the fitcamx front and rear cams too. It doesn’t have all the features that some other dash cams have but the recording quality is good (4K front, 1080p rear), and the integrated oem look is a huge plus.

Even though the Viofo 139 Pro uses the newest Starvis2 sensor and has good reviews for its resolution (my 1st choice) - when i recently went to buy a dash cam for our new m440i vert at Blackboxmycar I was told NOT to buy the Viofo due to the fact the wiring is poorly shielded and causes potential interference in euro cars like bmw MB and audi, effecting keyless entry and radio in their experience, and the wiring for power and rear cam is extremely thick and hard to run under the tight fitting interior panels on euro built cars...

They recommended either the Blackview or Thinkware U1000. I already have the BV in my 435 that I purchased thru them, so I went with the thinkware U1000 2ch with radar for parking mode enhancement and the Blackboxmycar battery with extended hardwire from bat to camera since the normally supplied cable is 15ft and that was gonna be a little short to run from battery in trunk cavity to windshield.

They said even though the TW U1000 uses the Starvis1 it still holds its own today in terms of video quality

Not like they made more money off me for the TW over the Viofo actually they made less. They deal primarily with dash cams from many mfg and have done tons of installs in many models of cars so I take their advice seriously.

New cam arrives tomorrow and I'll prolly install next weekend

Check out their site or YouTube = tons of info & videos, good pricing, quik delivery and they gave me additional 5% off

There are a lot of people who run the Viofo A139 Pro on M340i forum and not one person has ever mentioned any of the problems you mentioned. Please don't spread false info. I installed my A139 pro myself and I finished the hardwire install in 20 mins. The headliner has TONS of room to run any of the wiring. No issues with it affecting any electronics.

I'll post what I like thank you

Just relating what an expert company in dash cams told me that they have run into when selling/installing dash cams

Like I said there was no reason for them to tell me this as I would have purchased it and spent more money with them

So take the advice they gave me with a grain of salt and buy what u want...

Could you share some pictures/details of the install? Just got my car and needing to figure out the best way to run the power wiring and the wire to the rear cam... as well as figure out a good spot to stick it on the windshields.

This is all I used for the installation. Followed the exact steps in this. You just remove some of the weather stripping and you can tuck the wiring into the headliner. And then reinstall the weather stripping. There is a TON of room. BMW literally did not glue the ends so you can put your fingers into it.

Here's another recommendation for Viofo A139 Pro. No issues whatsoever. I have it powered off of the Blackboxmycar PowerCell 8 for parking mode recording as well. I can grab photos of the installation of you'd like.
