steam clean it, wipe with water, let dry
apply a leather coating. Some are good, decent, really good

then, warm towel wipedowns monthly should be all you need with periodic interior detailer spray wipedowns. No need for heavy cleaning all the time if you maintain it. A product like a light cleaner with some UV protection in it will work great for monthly or bi-weekly wipedowns

BMW leather cleaner - highly underrated for what would be more than enough for most people.

If you're restoring or cleaning an interior that has aged, 3rd party products are required but if your car is new or you're doing periodic cleaning, the BMW cleaner works extremely well with a horsehair brush and it's not harsh enough to affect the leather. I use it on my ivory interior and it still looks like new.

Well, first of all, thanks to everyone who has responded

I have ended up using Lexol 2 step and Maguire's leather wipes weekly -- they seem to be doing a great job

Appreciate all of the advice!

These! They are absolutely better than anything else we can get in the US. Beats Lexol hands down.

What Eric said ^

Get a leather coating done and you'll never have to worry about leather cleaning and conditioning (for a few years, it doesn't last forever)

I've had it done on my F30 with saddle brown Dakota, after 4 years it looked brand new with just the odd wet towel wipe down.

For my M340i with Ivory White merino, also applied coating, it has held up as if brand new after 4 months so far. Hardest colour to keep clean and it's working brilliantly.

Leather Cleaner Updates Red !

2018 M240 with Red leather.
Would like to do a good clean and condition on the RED Leather.
I have the Chemical Guys from Walmart. But haven't used it and wonder if it will change the RED. Worried about having red and what products will clean best without color change ect...

Thanks
Hap
