NFW it shows up here manual only. In fact we'll be lucky to even get one.

With that long life cycle Bmw NA should have brought the G21 in here that a lot of time to recuperate the certification cost.

I agree, no chance it’s manual only. However, I’m almost certain we’ll get a manual considering half of US M2 sales was with a manual.

I actually think it's not meant as "all US cars will be manual" but rather "ONLY US cars will be manual"

I'm curious on which platform/architecture ICE cars will be based on in the end of the decade (2027+). So, G05 X5 successors and more.
BMW can't extend the lifecycle of these cars to an unlimited amount of time...
So, will the usage of CLAR-WE architecture end and an ICE-only platform will come back? Similar to the BEV-only "Neue Klasse" platform?

I think we will get more information in 2023/2024.

-Right now the i4/i3 and the standard car share a platform.
-BMW has said they think the market will be large enough later in the decade to support new class as its own offering in the 3 series segment
-They have not said they will abandon ice in that segment as a result, only that new class will not be planned for hybrid variants
-I doubt they would walk away from ice/hybrid sales in a high volume segment for the brand
it depends on what the company sees what the future holds

if Euro bans ICE I don't see them developing ICE, they can still sell them but i don't see a lot of R&D being sunk into it if Euro bans it.

but if they don't yeah why not make hay while the sun shines! them Mericans will buy!

The "All you need to know" video about the X1 has this at around the 6:30 mark: "And later the X1 20i and the 20d" - I don't think those are mentioned in the top post, but it's a bit less easy to cross-check that these days without the handy SOP table from before.

I list all models and their SOPs I know about in the U11 section.

Specifically, I haven't seen any 20d models, only s18d and x23d.

The US iX1 has been canceled, literally days or weeks before the official model intro.

My answer was about the current ones (I'm pretty sure that's what the question was about). What tech will be in G45 is too soon to tell.

Though recent history shows that BMW refreshes infotainment systems every 3 years. Make of it what you will.

Will they retain iD7 or just integrate iD8 into current hardware?

In the main post, it says X5/X6/X7 would receive Motorway/Highway Assistant in April 2023.

For the LCI X7, the sensor 'hexagon' under the front bumper has been enlarged over the last model, and it also supports Parking Assistant Professional (instead of the old 'Plus'), which is on the new 7 and iX.

Does this suggest that the LCI X7 already has all the hardware needed for Highway Assistant, and even earlier models produced before April 2023 could have a (paid) software update programmed later to enable Highway Assistant?

Otherwise, the first few months of early LCI X7s would miss out on this feature.

Interesting that BMW seems to not see any market for U11 BEV versions.
Might be the range which isn't too high or the overall market for a smaller crossover SUV...
