The new mechanical stalks are still a cost cutting thing. They are way cheaper inside with the plastic parts. Which one you like is about taste, but it's definitely more premium with the self returning stalks. They are more logic to use with the features as parking assist, lane change assist etc., since you donīt have to manually put the stalks back to 0-position.

F48 to G21 commands

Hello there,

So I have a G21 and I absolutely hate the wiper commands, they drive me crazy and I want to retrofit the F series commands. I found that the F48 commands are exactly what I would like to retrofit on my car. Does anyone have any ideas if they are compatible ( mechanic and connection wise ) and also is there any coding involved for retrofitting these ?

costachioiuflorin I've tried those on an G31, but it didn't work. The F-series SZL is communicated by two LINs, but the G-series is only one. I may have a solution to get the F-series SZL work (with rear windscreen wiper), but haven't had time to try it yet.

The only solution at the moment is to get rid of the rear windscreen wiper if you want the "touch-based" column stalks.
