Car for the previous 8 years was a 2006 Lexus GS300. Not very fun, but the thing was a rock. Previous to that was a long list of imports through my twenties and early thirties including a civic, celica, s2000, STI, 240sx and an Infiniti G35.

What kind of things have people done so far to their rides? So far I’ve put on the Ind badges, painted front reflectors, Xpel PPF on front end, modesta ceramic coating, and the bavsound stage 1 speaker upgrade. Future plans include the stage 2 ghost subwoofers, and maybe one day consider some sort of tune or exhaust. Anyone else?

Ditto, I went with a 796M staggered set up and the same Pirelli winter tires. I generally don't mod my vehicle while its under warranty. Once it is out of warranty I tend to get more adventurous.

M340i, Black sapphire metallic on 791M's
Just got this a couple of weeks ago and definitely enjoying the heck out of it, even if we still can't drive too far yet...

PNW roll call has been quiet for a while but hopefully there is still interest.
New to BMWs and the M340ix caught my attention. Picked up this one. Seattle-area folks, any/all recommendations about where to take it, what to do with it, etc. are appreciated. Now the fun begins! |

Bump up! How's everyone getting along with their G20s? I toyed with swapping to G42 M240i as I prefer a coupe but pricing is terrible on everything now so would spend more lease money for a lower tier car.
Instead, I'm throwing some money at my M340i. Hardwired a radar detector and added OTA remote start a couple weeks ago. Got an appointment for tint, paint correction, and ceramic in a couple weeks. Thinking about lowering and spacers but don't want to change the ride quality and handling is already excellent IMO. My lease goes until August 2022 and at this point I plan to buy it out. $67k MSRP for $40k residual and I'm only at 14k miles due to wife WFH. Not to mention I love the driving experience it provides. Super easy to access power that still builds towards 7k rpms, sounds good, handles great for the amount of comfort, looks good, and plenty of luxuries. My only complaint are the seats are nothing special and wish it had merino leather as well as my tanzanite blue scratched up way too quickly. Everything else is gravy. I also picked up an X3M and use that as my daily and outdoor fun rig. I'm driving the M340i much more now due to MPG and it's a softer ride for sure. |

Accutint Bellevue does great work and I've used them multiple times in the past. Bookings were also months out when I took delivery of my M340ix, so I tried AccutintNW in Shoreline for tint and ppf. They got me in same week and did an equally impressive job. Happy to recommend them as an option.

I'm also loving the car and have minimal miles due to WFH. Put it on the lift at Stew's the other week to poke around, do an oil change (0w20 to 0w30), and install BMS strut braces. Looking to obtain a second set of wheels with all-season tires for winter use.
For a while I was seriously considering swapping to a M550ix, but I'm glad I didn't- the M340ix has the right balance of qualities for my needs. |

Paint correction polish, OptiCoat ceramic, and 30% ceramic tint done yesterday at Accutint Bellevue. I can't say enough good things about this shop. Some quick pics from pick up and this morning that don't do it justice.
Looks fantastic and I should have done this a long time ago but didn't know I'd plan to have the car beyond a 3 year lease. Nice little refresh though on this 2020 with 15k miles. |

That looks fantastic! I used Eastside Auto Salon in Bellevue for PPF+tint and modesta ceramic coat when I first got the car nearly 3 years ago now. Love the car, but have a wandering eye regarding one day getting a cayman 718. Unfortunately house purchase is first on the list, and with how expensive the eastside is getting that may be a pipe dream for a while!

Looking good Transfer.
We are both on the same boat since we bought our cars at the same time (still thank you for your help). Just like all of my other cars, mine went in for a PPF and tint right after delivery and I ceramic coated it myself at that time. I do this even with leased cars since I never know if I am going to buy them or not when they are new. It will pay off this time. I am at 21K miles now and most likely buy it out at the end of the lease unless some miracle happens between now and Sep with the market. I am also very impressed with the way it handled in snow after the recent storm we had. The OEM Pirelli P7s have been very impressive along with xDrive of course. My residual is $36k and at this point it is a no brainer to buy it at the end of the lease. Another beauty of leasing :-)

I put pirelli sotozerro3s on mine (with xdrive) and it has been awesome in the snow. Honestly, better than my wife’s X3 (which are not the stock Michelin all seasons). Beautiful rides, guys. Wish I stepped up and got the M340 rather than 330 in retrospect, but very happy with mine as well. Got me to Leavenworth for a nice holiday trip!

Bad timing to be doing a minor construction project on the house and having to use garage for that. The 3er is relegated to the street and X3M which is getting all the use this week is in the driveway. At least that Tanzanite blue is staying clean!

First it was a Subaru there, then me. As I was walking from my car, the Jeep was struggling to get there and he slipped the wheels until he got to the gravel; initially I thought it's FWD as those wheels seemed to have been sleeping; I think he was trying to change different modes but eventually he gave up, came up with some speed and did the forward parking.
(I don't know what tires other cars had but being PNW, probably all-seasons) Actually I'm quite surprised on the Bridgestone Turanza All-Season that my car came; I drove daily without any issues. Eventually a Mazda CX-30 came there without issues (has the same AWD as my other car, the Mazda3). Last edited by iulianm; 12-31-2021 at 06:01 PM.. |

Put Michelin Crossclimate 2 tires on for the cold & wet. Not a true winter tire but they did great in the snow. Held firm going up Snoqualmie while many other cars were finding guardrails.
I bumped up to 235/40 R19 to help take the edge off the ride (no adaptive suspension)… minor improvement. |
