Dealer here in South Florida claim it's ok for car needing a quart at 3k on stock motor; they treated me as though I were delusional to find this odd. Lucky for me, this is a lease.

Very nice build! Very clean! I like power as much as anyone, but just curious if you are going to do any mods to use it other than drag times? Suspension, brakes, etc... It is kinda weird when I read most of the posts on this forum and everyone is so amped up only about 0-60 & 1/4 miles times. I have read very few, if any, posts about suspension upgrades etc. Personally, I think of BMW, Porsche, etc. as more "driver's cars" for carving back roads and race tracks rather than drag strips... But that's just me. Straight line speed is bupkis if ya can't stop it or turn it - IMO...

Looking good. Love the under-the-radar aesthetic. Nice work!

I track my F80 M3 CS and my previous stock F80 M3 and I've autocrossed an M340i at the Ultimate Driver Event. I was impressed at how well the M340i handled a short tight autocross. Very impressed! I got 2nd place by tenths of a second, so I put the car through it's paces. I even almost spun out on one of my warm up laps to see where the limit was. My honest opinion is that it's a very fast car straight and it's very capable on the track, however, driving home in the M3 CS and tracking it the next weekend have me a fair comparison between them. First of all, the M340i is much heavier. I already feel like the M3 could lose a few lbs, but the M340i needs to drop serious weight. A quick search shows 3900+lbs. that's 3-400 lbs heavier than the F8X. It makes sense-the car is bigger and more luxurious. BMW's own internal docs reflect that the M340i is not for the track. It's simply too heavy to be competitive. Does that mean it shouldn't go on the track? Certainly not. I think lots of fun could be had making this car go fast, but it's not really fair to make comparisons to the F80 using only 0-60 times. The F80 wasn't designed to be a drag king just as the M340i was not designed to be a circuit racer. Any track that isn't just a straight line, the F80 is more capable simply because it's designed to be. It's almost like saying that the F80 is better than a Miata because it's faster on the straights... but we all know who's faster on the turns. Let's compare apples to apples.

It's a lease, so I really don't plan on going too crazy with it. Some wheels/tires soon. Possibly a slight drop if/when Dinan releases their compatible lowering kit. Probably a few more carbon pieces as well. As a photographer, I just wanted something that's quick and looks nice to photograph. It's a happy medium for me between performance and comfort. |

I'm going to measure it this week and see where I'm at with it. 4,300 miles on it now. So the standard change will be coming up soon anyway. Fingers crossed I can make it there without topping up lol |

Here's a little video a friend and I put together.
Unfortunately messed up the audio from the exhaust a bit. |

We tried, but we found out we were at the wrong section of the air field.
The area we were in was so bumpy, neither of us could really get traction. When I checked draggy, it was saying 4.5 seconds 0-60.. Worse than stock lol. I'll test it out in a better spot soon. |

New BMW interiors are really nice compared to the F3X generation.

I am in Florida, so about 6 months is EXTRA HOT here, and then another 3 pretty warm. So my worry is running higher temperatures and also Turbo wear with Stage 2. Did you try Stage 1 first? I am xDrive too. Thanks and a beautiful car bud! |

I haven't really ran into any issues with the tune other than things I've already mentioned. (still have check engine from catless dp, factory remote start won't work, and no launch control). I think the launch and remote start aren't working due to a check engine light. Alex at Mission has been pretty busy, so it has taken him some time to get back to me about these things, but I haven't ran into any problems. I'm at 10k miles now. I did do stage 1 first with no downpipe. It's been a while, but either stage 1 or 2 have been a huge difference over stock. |

Some new shots of the car with the Dinan exhaust. Hopefully have a new video up soon, and the Dinan springs as well.
