Here's hoping Dinan releases an axle back for the B46 sometime soon. There are pictures of it in the marketing info for their Stage 1 tune...

I think it's going to be the best bang for the buck. The MPE is great and all but the tips make it stupid expensive. The Remus is awesome but the tips aren't cheap and you've got to change out the valence. There are other options from boutique type manufacturers that are even more expensive...

The Dinan exhaust is "done." They have stated though it doesn't make sense to release a new SKU to manufacturing when due to all the supply chain constraints, they cant keep up as it is. I wouldnt expect the Dinan to be much cheaper than the M performance. Maybe $250 or so would be my guess.

I dunno… I'm pretty sure it will be more than $250 less, as the M340i exhaust is $279 less when comparing MSRP... and that's with two extra tips and double the plumbing.

MSRP

M-Performance for G20 330i: $1720 + $659 for the tips = $2379
Dinan G20 M340i: $2100

I guess you can't really compare the F30 axle back, again due to plumbing, but it's only $1167.

My WAG, assuming it ever comes to market, is that the 330i exhaust setup will be around $1800 MSRP.

M Performance Exhaust on G20 330i. This is on Sport + Mode. I'll say around 30% more louder than stock. Definetly more Pops and Bangs. Low bass growl sound. It sounded the same as stock exhaust on Normal Mode. As for performance: Zero gained

MPE on G20 330i - Update

Have been enjoying the MPE on my India-spec 2020 G20 330i Sport.

Sounds seems to have 'matured' with a lovely solid bassy feel to it. It is not buzzy at all at normal revs in Comfort, but hell it is really loud in Sport / Sport Plus or in Sport tranny settings.

Overall, a very satisfied buyer; my outlay was ~US$ 2,200 (installed by my local BMW dealer with a proper invoice etc.) when I bought it. Now, the rate has shot up to ~ US$ 3,200.

As per Indian rules, even a OEM performance exhaust can be construed to be an 'illegal' mod, because the G20 330i was not homologated with the MPE as standard, and definitely breaks sound pollution rules anyway. Just need to be mindful not to be silly in high security central business district areas, or when there are too many idle cops hanging around.

Did not go for those yummy CF tips though, as they were obscenely priced. Will pick up either Borla / ECS Tuning or suchlike tips at some point in time. I have the Sport (Sportline in other countries), hence have stuffed the OEM ones onto the MPE even though it's not a great fit.

Enjoy!

Sweet! Do you have a thread on tbhp? I might have read it if you do.

Your car sounds nice. And yes. I did read about that new rule. Thankfully they implemented it after I moved out of the country. But you have to do what you have to.

Nice to see another Indian owner on here!

You code it in with the Bimmercode app. Requires the OBD dongle (around $60) and Bimmercode app ($30 I think). Takes about 5-10 minutes to do the coding.

$3,500 is absurd for this, really a money grab Ala cart item. Dinan axel back esxasut is $1,300 and is louder and sounds better in every conceivable way.

Definitely sounds better but the official M performance parts are ungodly expensive for what you get. Ive heard better sounding axle back exhausts for $1,500. Hell even the Performance exhaust for the M4 competition costs $10k which is ridiculous.
