That side profile looks sharp. Digging it.

I'm not looking to get a new car soon having just gotten one in 2018, but when I do I suspect I'll come to the same conclusion I did this past time. That the 2 series Coupé is a vastly better handling car than the 4er simply because of the sheer size the 3/4 have gotten to be. Sure, the interior of the 4 was nicer, but the loss of driver feeling connected wasn't worth it.

The absurd horrible grill that just keeps looking awful every time I see it would be the clincher. Seems that the new 2 coupe will have one around the size of the 2 GC and I can live with if I can still get a manual with a B58.

Lots to like about this car for sure, but they seem to keep missing the mark handling wise and a complete fail on the styling all due to the grill. My E46 330Ci compared to anything you could get then was unquestionably superb handling and looks drop dead gorgeous hands down. BMW needs to get back to making cars of unquestionable stature. Not cars that are good, but we have quibbles and certainly not relying on questionable styling gimmicks to appeal to a certain market.

is not a question anyone will ask

You would think that with the world on some form of lock down because of the virus BMW would show pity on us and do the reveal already.

The idea of the battery is to eliminate perceived turbo lag, not to create a full hybrid system.

If there's one thing I've learned with C/D its to never trust their press drives. They are always extremely positive and never look at the negatives. Once they get the cars in their own hands for a review they tell it how it really is. Just look at the difference in F30 and G30 press drives and then instrument tests/reviews, they go from glowing to critical.
C&D prototype reviews are usually fairly generic. They don't divulge very much detail yet. The M1 review was slightly more critical. To me their criticism of the M440i was actually somewhat encouraging. They suggested that it was extremely competent but a little "synthetic" and stiff for their liking. This usually means that the car is a beast and they didn't come anywhere close to finding where its limits are during the test drive.

I was thinking the same thing. Either the camo is really really good or this doesn't have the coffin grills?

Wait, where is that ugly bucktooth grille? Is it going to be M3/M4 only? Also, is that a revised digital cluster?

I really like what they have done with the 4 series. I think the grill will look great. Takes a bit to get adjusted to, but it's the same thing as going from a fully covered ultra conservative USA beaches (ones I have seen) to liberal Spain beaches. Takes some adjusting to do. Or if your GF /wife gets breast implants and a BBL, along w massive lips. Still same person just more. LOL. If you're into that.

I think the 4 series will look great and innovative moving way for the what will likely be a stupidly fast M4 comp, wider, lower with better seats.

My perspective is thinking "steering is a line of code" that can be fixed with software is exactly the wrong mindset. Mechanical feel will be returned through more direct mechanical connections, and not simply reprogramming the same hardware. Change the hardware BMW!

BMW uses the same ZF steering rack/mechanics that a lot of other companies (who have better steering feel) use as well, so hardware and mechanicals I don't think are the issue, its simply that BMW purposefully tunes out any feel on every single of their vehicles.

It's still a mechanical rack.

Hydraulic boosted steering is gone for good.

Pretty unlikely the new 2 coupe will have a manual, except for the M2. Unless BMW does a u-turn here and reintroduces the manual for non M-cars.
