I have owned lots of cars over the years and driven even more. My first BMW was an E36 328i SE in the days before MSport mania was thought of, but you could opt for a sport suspension package which suited the car perfectly. So forgive me if I drop into a forum now and again, but cars are one of my hobbies.
Totally acceptable reason, obviously. But come on it's pretty obvious that so many "M" members seem to be jumping in on topics just throw out the "it's not a real M" comments. I'm a fan of cars in general as well, but I've never seen so much shit talking (the only other time was in the MB forums seeing the C43 "it's not a real AMG" threads over and over and over...it was so stupid).

Very nice, looks great! Black accents with white is the only way to go! Now I know why you hated the cerium lol!

The Gold Carbon Ceramics on M cars are still the best looking color on any car caliper period

Would be a great option. I think the cerium depends on the color of the car. I actually don't mind it on mine but I do go back and forth all the time between keeping the cerium or switching to black.

I am going through the exact same thing. Looks like your car is Dravit, as is mine. Kinda like the cerium, but thinking that black would probably look better.

The cerium looks the best on dravit but the black really stands out on the color also. Either way you guys can't go wrong.

Maybe you'd find it amusing that the first thing I'd do is paint over those gold calipers. I think that color is gaudy. I'm not a gold fan generally so it makes sense if you were to know me.

Wow did this thread go astray from red calipers to jabs about "real" M cars, and now to hating/loving Cerium. Anyhow, moving right along....

Before I got my Mineral Gray M340i I was sure I would order a Shadowline grille and lower intake trim pieces but when I got the car, the Cerium bits grew on me. I think they look best on Mineral Gray or Dravit like yours, and maybe especially good on Dravit since it has a bit of a gold or bronze tone to it in certain light.

Disclaimer: I reserve the right to change my mind and order all the Shadowline parts if I get bored with the look of my car.

Why do you bother coming into the G20 specific part of this site? I don't get it...like honestly don't get it.
It came up on the news feed you prawn. But calm down, I wasn't poking fun at anyone. Just commenting on some posts above.

Maybe you need to chill, lockdown has that effect on some people.

Yes, exactly. You can see what you are talking about in this picture. Dont mind the orange reflectors.. Paint matched on that way!

Anyway, back to brake caliber colors?

Am I the only one on the planet who liked Cerium Grey above other options? I love it on my Sunset Orange.

Anyway, red calipers are cool (I'm happy with my blue ones though). Red would go well with Portimao Blue

I don't know why some ignorantly feel the need to specifically shit talk the M340i like it's chopped liver or something.

I don't specifically own one but could vouch that it's a monster! Like scary, I-Can-Keep-UP-With-Porsches kind of fast and responsive, as any official "M" car. #TrueStory

I don't care how bright and shiny your M underwear might be or how much allegiance think you've pledge to the M cause, if you actually took the time and really drove a M340i, I promise you will at least, if not, kill this asinine M or not an M debate and be just proud that it's even in the BMW family.

Jay, do we have any idea when the 2021 models may start showing up at dealers?

I'm perfectly calm but your maturity is shining bright. You keep coming in and commenting on G20 specific things (amongst other M3/M4 owners). I just don't get why there has to be jabs here and there from "real M car owners". I don't see anybody here saying shit about F80 models...other than that one idiot that started the racing thread.
Really?? Idiot? Because of a post you can't handle??

It was stupid and he was just stirring the pot with every post trying to get the M guys all worked upon (not much different from what some of the M guys are now doing here). Whoever said it can't handle it anyways...I'm just saying these jabs back and forth are idiotic and immature. If you like it so be it.

Doesn't matter to me... I enjoyed my M4 and now I'm enjoying my M340 (as much as possible with current pandemic).

Just asking why the ad hominem attack?? So what post a racing video...now what??? Does it change anything?

The G20 looks too bubbly without the M-Sport pack. It really needs it for that wider, meaner looking stance.

Lets not kid ourselves here. No ///M cars are 'real' these days. The magic formula for an M car was and has always been a rear wheel drive normal series car that BMW gave a bespoke engine, different suspension and the M goodies on the inside and outside. They've kind of all been watered down so they appeal to the masses. BMW is a business and needs to make money to keep shareholders happy but I wish they would do something exciting that makes the M cars stand-out. I'd be okay with an M3 that's a four cylinder and a battery pack or electric motor. It's different and it stands out. M cars are suppose to be innovative and technology is suppose to trickle down to the regular series from the M line-up. Look at what AMG may be doing on the next AMG C63.

What the formula now just seems to be make anything that sells. No more bespoke engine. We'll take the B58, tweak it and call it the S58. We'll tweak the suspension and just throw the M badge on every panel and most customers will NEVER notice because most customers really don't care. It's the enthusiast community that notices. M Cars just seem to be a sportier extension of the regular series car lineup.

No offense to the CA or FL folks but just take a trip down there and look at how many owners are taking full potential of the cars. One or two percent if that.

I do like how BMW is starting to move away from the boring Nappa Leather seats to a diamond stitched seat. It has some flavor to what is a business focused interior.

P.S. Those that have driven a an e36, e46, e92 know what I'm talking about.

So to be clear you think Burrcold added no value with his comments but you feel commenting on his comment does add value?!?! Interesting. Please go on.
