NEW PRODUCT RELEASE: Dinan BMW G20 330i / G22 430i Valved Axle Back Exhaust Systems

Name: D660-0091-BLK_Forum_1.jpg

Dinan BMW G20 330i / G22 430i Valved Axle Back Exhaust Systems

Part Number(s): D760-0060, D760-0061, D760-0062
Applications:
  • 2019-2022 G20 330i (& xDrive)
  • 2021-2022 G22 430i (& xDrive)
Product Page(s) / Pricing: dinan.info/G20-G22-EXH
Release Date: Available Now!

Description: Delivering on the promise of performance (and sound) without sacrifice, the Dinan G20 330i / G22 430i exhaust not only grants the B46/B48 4-cylinder improved exhaust flow by reducing back pressure but also imbues the platform with a deep and full-bodied note, free of any added drone or other negative side effects commonly associated with aftermarket exhausts. The goal of OEM+ and then some, realized.

Utilizing factory cut points and mounting mechanics the Dinan exhaust system is a straightforward install with precision fitment just like you would expect straight from the manufacturer. Mounting and proper fitment is where the similarities to the factory exhaust end, however. Fabricated from brushed 100% T304 stainless steel, TIG welded and free of hydroformed pipes the upgraded system is a substantial improvement from its predecessor – both in terms of material/construction as well as in overall looks. When viewed from the rear the difference becomes unmistakable if it was not already apparent. Going from the plebeian stock dual slash cut 90mm (3.5”) tips to the massive Dinan straight cut 102mm (4”) ones leaves no doubt that something above and beyond is present. This is solidified by the Dinan logo laser engraved on the tips and the deep growl of the exhaust that is indisputably different than anything one would expect to hear from a base 4-cylinder turbo platform.

Unquestionable enhancements to the overall chorus emitted through the Dinan system transcends all modes making the vehicle a delight to drive and enjoy. However, for those that wish to have options to limit the extraordinary soundtrack for late night or early morning arrivals/departures (or any number of other reasons) factory valve control is retained. This ensures the perfect blend of civility when not pushing the car or the full spectrum of auditory delight when in it. No matter the situation the Dinan valved axle back exhaust system is the answer for the discerning enthusiast looking for performance without sacrifice.

Features/Benefits:
  • Maximum gains of +4 HP and +3 ft-lb of torque.
  • Enjoyably louder, sportier sound.
  • Drone abatement technologies used to reduce cabin resonance.
  • Dual 4" (102mm) double-walled, polished, or black ceramic coated clamp-on tips with laser engraved Dinan logo.
  • Larger diameter piping for increased flow (85mm to dual 60mm vs. 85mm to dual 83mm).
  • 100% 304 Stainless Steel construction.
  • Retains factory valve control.
  • Factory-like fitment with included mounting hardware.

I'm in Europe. I have access to USPS as well as a US address for other carriers. Unfortunately, Dinan doesn't ship USPS, the more forgiving option for size and weight. My other option is quite strict and would definitely kick back a parcel that size.

Maybe I can sweet talk the shipping department to breakdown that shipment into multiple boxes. I can offer stroopwaffels, wooden clogs, and some Trappist beer.

Gotta represent Dinan over here!

We don't intend to offer a quad option. What folks do to the exhaust for their enjoyment is up to them though. It would take modification (Y pipe to go from the single outlet to dual and some cutting back of the existing outlet in all likliehood) and a new rear bumper/diffuser in my estimation so not exactly a project for the squeamish.

Unfortunately there is no breaking that down. That physical size box is what is needed for the base muffler section so the best you could hope for is some reduction in weight (tips and inlet pipes ship seperately so not a great deal of weight savings either). Alternatively I would suggest reaching out to @dinancarsdeutschland on IG. They are still in the process of setting up all the Dinan import stuff for central Europe but they may have some sort of workaround they may be able to offer even if the Netherlands aren't technically part of their "service area". Worth a quick message at least.

Great, thanks for the reply! If went that route, are we able to purchase additional dinan tips? Assuming this already comes with two

Technically yes. Would need to contact the tech sales folks at 1-800-341-5480 to purchase sub-assembly parts though. Should be noted that tips in a number of instances are a long lead item and priority will be given to full system sales. Part of the reason we haven't started selling tips individually directly on the site is we have trouble keeping up with the full systems let alone adding stand alone sales.

That's a bummer. I'll wait until a new co-worker moves from the US and just have the exhaust sent to them to put in their household goods.

The Germany route could work, however I don't get a VAT refund in Germany. That 19% sales tax adds up.

Just wondering how this compares with the MPE system (besides being less than half the price? Thanks in advance for any response!

Only have heard the 330i MPE in video and never in person so it's hard to comment with any authority but at least in video comparisons the Dinan sounds deeper/more bassy than the MPE. Some prefer the more exotic / higher pitch however while some prefer a deeper sound -- all personal preference/taste.

Thanks for the response. Can you explain how to regulate whether the valves are open or closed with this exhaust? I thought you had to be in Sport mode and shift manually to open the valves, at least that is my experience with my car? The description for this exhaust says "Retains factory valve control"? I would like to leave the valves open most of the time regardless of drive mode.

The Dinan exhaust does not affect/regulate whether the valve is open/closed, since it retains the factory valve/control unit. You will need something like this:

Dinan offers a remote valve control module for around $250 - I ordered that one with my axle back exhaust

Unlike M cars or even the 6-cylinder engines where you have a exhaust valve button or can force the car to open up the valve via Sport+/M2/etc. the 4-cylinder cars a bit more set in their ways and the valve only opens up at ~3000 RPM, regardless of drive mode. In order to have the control it looks like you are after you would need to do something like the valve control remote (what you linked) or have it coded accordingly.
