So by your logic the plan was to "let off the pedal" and allow their opponent to score 24 unanswered in the 2nd half? To attempt not to advance the ball past the 50yd line AND let their Cinderella season all hinge on the narrow recovery of an onside kick.

21-0 in the 1st qtr is well on the way to whooping that ass...31-0 at the half is an ass whooping.

But the game is played in 4 quarters.

When the last qtr said 0:00....Panthers had more points than the Hawks....all that matters...

Sounds like SB50 might be a repeat of SB48 with the Bronco's getting their ass handed to them. Only this time it will be a different team doing the handing.

And to you too above, chill out. I am a Hawks fan too but even I admit they needed to do a lot better in the 1st half. They did make a valiant effort to bring it back but that would not have been needed if they had showed up in the 1st half.

Lol. Let me get this straight: in SB48 the team with the #1 defense gave a whooping to its opponent, and you think Denver who has the #1 defense will get steamrolled?

I was only commenting on the momentum of the Panthers. They are rolling and it will take a lot to stop them. I am, by no means, a fan of them but you can't argue with how well they took apart both the Cards but also my Hawks.

I also think it would be kinda poetic and a little funny if they do the same thing to the Bronco's that the Hawks did.

I know what you mean. I would hate to see history repeat itself. With that said, I don't think it will happen. Kubiak is a more aggressive coach than Fox. I am still hesitant about Denver facing Carolina though. They are a very, very strong team.

It'll be less about the Panther O vs the Bronco D, rather if the Bronco O can generate any scores on the Panther D...

I say this because the Pats defense is no where near the level of the Panthers, and Manning could not easily manufacture TD's on the Pats defense. Two games in a row the Broncos struggled against a sub-par defense.

That is what I have been thinking since last Sunday. Seeing how Denver could not move the ball that well had me thinking that if they go up against a team that could, they will be in trouble. On top of that the Panthers' D isn't exactly a pushover either. I guess we'll have to see what each team has cooked up next weekend.

Edit: I must also add that Panthers have not faced a Defense such as the one that Denver has. Whether that is enough to slow down Carolina is another question.

I could not agree more, 31 unanswered in a half is a straight ass whooping. Hawks did it to themselves by not showing up ready to play and Panthers wisely took advantage. But then, by the same logic, so is 24 unanswered in the next half. The difference in the game was Wilson, thinking his sh*t don't stink, throwing over the middle from his own 20, while being tackled, to a back who wasn't even looking for the ball. The single biggest boneheaded play I've witnessed in his pro career.

But bottom line, Panthers deserve to be in the SB, they earned it. Personally, I'll be rooting for the 'Manning retiring on top story' but I think that's unlikely. When looking at their last SB, the Broncos D is now what the Hawks were at that time. The difference is that the Hawks offense in SB 48 was better than the Broncos is now with the rapidly fading Manning. Carolina will not have an easy time scoring but score they will. However, I just don't see Denver generating enough offense to have a chance.

Actually Seattle is the #2 Defense after the Broncos. I think they will be ok.

But again, once Seattle woke up, that ended. As long as Broncos arrive ready to play the D can keep them in it. I just don't see Peyton coming from behind for the win.
