This video of a 2024 U.S m340i shows the old style headlight design I think? Don't see the chrome triangle accents. The change might be location specific? OP's video is from a Canadian dealer
1:11 in this video shows the headlights: Same video shows the turtle shell steering wheel cover at 4:48 unfortunately. |

I guess us early adopters really isn't missing out much from this refresh which lacks many things the pre-LCI cars have. That steering wheel airbag cover does look cheap. Initially I had dismissed this thread as just a bunch of whiners lol.

I prefer the cleaner front-end look of the LCI cars, but in all other respects I'm unmoved, and a few interior things I actively dislike. Losing the little hatch in the lower dash below the lights panel where I keep my sunnies would be really annoying; I like the gear selector on my car and wouldn't want the switch; the new steering wheel boss looks cheap, and I don't like the look of the shell-style front seats (although based only on a brief sit in them in the showroom they do seem very comfortable). But the most breathtaking thing is the prices being charged for the new cars. Up nearly $20k/25% from 2019. I'll be waiting for a completely new generation before considering a change as my car at 4 years old still looks like new and is running like a jewelled watch.

What could be worse than replacing the shifter with a knob and killing all buttons instead giving us an iPad.

That new steering wheel looks SO cheap but it’ll go perfect with the injection molded center armrest which would look right at home in a Mitsubishi.

The left footrest for MY2024 is also plastic and not aluminium. Quite detailed list and review of most of the changes can be seen in this video:
It is in German, but around 13-15 minute he is visually showing the differences. Last edited by zlatko; 11-16-2023 at 05:37 AM.. |

The changes from LCI MY23 -> LCI MY24 are region specific. Consolidated list here to my understanding:
U.S: - Removed rear seat cargo netting - Changed seat adjustments from metal/aluminum to plastic with white trim (Prod date 08/2023 and prior still have the prev design) - Changed steering wheel airbag cover to plastic - Removed trunk side wells storage cargo netting - Changed driver's side door handle trim, lock/unlock buttons are now surrounded by black plastic instead of aluminum (used to be the same material as the grab handle) Canada: - Removed rear seat cargo netting - Changed seat adjustments from metal/aluminum to plastic w/ white trim - Changed steering wheel airbag cover to plastic - Removed trunk side wells storage cargo netting - Changed headlight design, no more strip at bottom but instead triangle chrome accents EU: - Removed rear seat cargo netting - Changed seat adjustments from metal/aluminum to plastic w/ white trim - Changed steering wheel airbag cover to plastic - Removed trunk side wells storage cargo netting - Changed headlight design, no more strip at bottom but instead triangle chrome accents - Changed driver's side footrest from metal to plastic Let me know if I missed anything - will try to update as more info comes out Last edited by Ransom; 11-25-2023 at 04:51 PM.. |

I’m torn on this stuff. It does suck that car companies are reducing quality while every year the product gets more expensive.
At the same time, the only thing that bothers me about these changes would be the airbag cover changing from leather to plastics. It looks so cheap and gross. The rest don’t bother me that much since I hardly interact with them. For example when I was researching my car before I bought it this year I couldn’t believe we don’t get galvanic controls for window switches in the US for the 3 series while Canada does. I thought it would bother me more, but after receiving the car , I hardly touch the window controls(my car is tinted), and for me it’s a non issue. I think things you interact with a lot will piss people off. How often do you adjust your seat and touch the seat controls? I’m sure they are betting that new users won’t miss these features since they may not be aware of them in the first place. The plastic airbag cover one is egregious in my eyes though. Very gross. Auto journalists need to call out and shame the companies for doing these type of things though. Remember when they wanted to charge for Apple CarPlay/ Android auto. The shaming with that one worked, at least in the US. |

Ransom - thanks for the summary!
It is not clear I think if the headlight design change is specific to base or adaptive headlight. Shadowline or not as well. You can see from the video(01:31) that in EU the design of the adaptive LED is still unchanged for MY2024. Eljefe25 - agreed, many things are not that annoying. But many are a practical downgrades - like the storage cubby, the lights for door pockets and air vents, the nets on seat backs and in the trunk. But it is the manufacturer's right to do that and we as a customer have to vote on it with our money Last edited by zlatko; 11-16-2023 at 12:57 PM.. |

The 2024 M3 still has the small storage area next to thr steering wheel, as well as the leather stitched airbag. Keeping the nice airbag makes sense on the M model, but I'm surprised it still has the storage.

Went and test drove another M340i yesterday because it was supposed to have the adaptive m suspension but actually didn’t.So now i have to go back one more day this week and drive another one.
This one also had the same shadowline headlights as the MY23.It also didn’t have the netting on the rear seat backs. One thing i did notice is that at least they are still putting the comfort access sensors on the rear doors. They deleted those when they released the X7 LCI. |

They took away cargo net some time ago I thought. Also no more transmission lever. Looks great on the outside but previous interior was better. The large screen looks out of place but I guess technically an upgrade. Less of a drivers car then before because they are moving towards electrification I guess but as long as it has the b58 and zf transmission they should keep it as a drivers car.

2024 M440i GC. Ordered April 5th, started production in May and it has the cargo nets. aluminum seat handles, and stitched airbag cover.
Looks like I got lucky on that but missed out on the ventilated seats. They were not an option when I ordered my car. |

I believe only 2 and 3 series cars are affected by these changes, so all '24 4 series will still have these features.

Also noticing that, at least for US market, 2024s only have metal door handles on the interior but the trim that encases the lock/unlock is now black plastic.
