G22 M440i - passenger seat only moves an inch at a time

Hi all,

Bit of an odd ball - but taking my chances anyone knows what could be causing this.

I have a MY22 G22 and since a while back, the passenger seat has two issues:

Normally, if you tilt the seat back forward fully, the seat will move to it's most forward position to enable back seat access - this does not work anymore.
When adjusting the seat using the buttons on the side, the seat only moves an inch or so at a time and then you need to release and re-engage the switch and it will move another inch or so.

This really annoying as it makes getting in and out of the back seat a pain for passengers. The drivers seat still works as expected.

Any ideas? Many thanks in advance.

Does it move with normal speed? (Thinking of over current protection.)
Otherwise what I would try (after reading failure codes with BimmerLink) is if a similar "reset" as is done with windows can help. I.e. drive to endpoints. release and press again a few seconds. Just a wild guess. (It could be some sensor gone bad.)

Sounds like it's not calibrated and doesn't recognise the track endstops.
