Wing mirror covers - opinions needed

Hi all,
Looking for opinions to sway me.

I've got a mineral grey 330e m sport with gloss black splitter, side skirts and diffuser.

I'm thinking it might benefit from changing the wing mirror covers.

Initially I thought gloss black would compliment the other details. Probably the m performance style or M4 style ones with the fin. But now I'm wondering if carbon fibre would be more worthwhile and a nice differentiator, and I guess more of an OEM look as aren't the genuine m performance ones carbon fibre?

I really don't fancy paying £300+ for pre preg carbon fibre though so looking at standard carbon fibre. I can get a pair for about £115.

So I'm looking for opinions....
Is it even worth changing from the colour coded ones?
Would gloss black or carbon fibre look better?
Would standard carbon fibre be sufficiently durable? Any issues with it? Or does it really need to be pre preg if you're going for carbon fibre?

Any photos, especially mineral grey, with different wing mirrors welcomed....

Cheers!

Carbon fiber mirror caps is one of those items where you don't need other CF on the car to make it work. So I think it would look great and give you a touch of carbon. However, I would stay clear from wet lay carbon fiber mirror caps. They are made using an ABS plastic base and then overlaid with some carbon fiber. These method is cheaper to make but they will not hold up long in the sun. If that is your price point then I would stick to the gloss back mirror caps.

All personal preference. you can interchange carbon on the upper half of the car without upsetting the balance. If you look at BMW OEM packages they typically do mirrors, spoiler, diffuser, and air inlets in carbon with thier oem package. We always tell people to match the mirrors and spoiler with material and match all the lower pieces.

In your case with a wagon since you wont have a spoiler, doing just the mirrors is probably ok. There are gloss black "M" mirrors both in OEM and aftermarket so you have all the options on the table.

On your car, we would probably just do gloss black "M" mirrors.

Thanks for the input.

I've actually gone ahead and fitted gloss black m performance style mirrors and I'm really pleased with them. Compliments the other gloss black details imo 👍🏻

Update on this....

Although I was initially pleased, I found in certain lights the gloss black mirror caps look a sort of "grey" colour. Initially I thought "you get what you pay for" as I bought some at a good price on eBay. But then sourced a pair at 3 times the price from a reputable online supplier and they were identical caps with the same markings so probably from the same original source. Same issue with them looking "grey" in direct light. It just stands out against the original gloss black wing mirror surround.

I guess I need to consider getting some carbon fibre ones....
