Pedestrian impact laws? It'll all grow on us and it'll blow over once they are tuned and modded. For me. I'm glad the g20 looks different. I like the m340. Glad I'm not a coupe person. Shame the gran coupe will have this front though

I understood that argument for the F but they obviously updated the design in the G20. We shall see, curious what month they will reveal it.

Great work by the OP!

Did my best to make it look even a bit more realistic.

Well, after 18 years and 6 cars, I have probably bought my last BMW. The direction the styling is going can only be described as hideous.

One must be visually blind to not see how awkward that front grill looks.
Even the farer grill looks bigger. And in top of that heptagonal grill, there is that arching ugly hoodline.
Boy, no clues of design whatsoever.
Very unfortunate design and extremely STUPID designer. yes BMW IT IS STUPID

I know pedestrian safety and everything, but I wish BMW could've found a way to integrate the grille/hood line. In the concept, it made the grille look so much better integrated. In the production car/renders I'm afraid it makes the front end look really heavy, like the grille is sagging off the front of the car. And it's accentuated by the lines around the roundel which makes the jutting of the grilles even more prominent.

It's a shame...I thought the 3.0 CSL looked so cool...and you'd think the large vertical grill would have translated to some of the future cars, including the new 4. It's not the size of the new 4 grill that bothers me...it's so awkward and clunky. I've put together a quick rendering of what it could have looked like with the CSL grill

100% agree. Both the X7 and 7-series may have tall grills but even they have a proper hood-line thats integrated with the grills, I don't see how they couldn't have done it with the 4 and M3

Maybe...but some designs are also just really bad. Sometimes the reaction is valid.

These renders don't show the active grill shutters or the bumper bar that's behind (and that the plates will mount to).

Not hating, but it's my own personal opinion that it's just not visually appealing. Hopefully the production version looks better

It’ll never grow on me. Extremely happy I bought my F82 when the first renders came out last year.

And there you have it a large grille that looks good and the ironic part about it is that it was designed by BMW!

You all realize someone at home in their computer threw this up together right?

Let's wait for official photos. I agree this shouldn't be in the front page.

Well, there really aren't many other good viable options these days, especially that don't have an oversized grille. I don't like the new BMW mega-grille, but I can't really find much else to buy. Going to see the new Corvette tomorrow, but I think that car might be a bit too overt for my uses. My parents have one on order. At least the M4 can go under the radar if you don't know what it is.

Looks like the radiator stuck on the bumper. Bad design job any way you look at it!

If you don't live in Canada, you can relax. This render is the Canadian edition paying homage to the beaver which is symbolic in Canada.
