Anyone else needed a new windscreen yet?
This happened the other day... 2 months and 7500 miles in to ownership is new record for how quickly I've needed one.
I have to have it done at the nearest Auto glass calibration center due to all the cameras and sensors. Will be interesting to see if it's the same supplier.

Ouch. Bad luck.
With you having the HUD I presume it'll have to be like for like? Heard that if not OEM then the HUD doesn't display as it should?

That's about standard for a BMW screen nowadays. I do not tailgate but have had screens crack and chip :-
5000 miles on the X3 must have been 100 yards from car in front. God knows where the chip was from. HUD all the cameras etc apparently a £1200 screen but £150 excess to me M3 within 10,000 miles M4 lasted longest about 13,000 JCW and M2 screens were ok! Auto glass are excellent, you cannot see externally anything has changed and very professional arrangements.

Yes. Foot long crack in windscreen from lower corner of drivers side. Slightly obscures vision. No idea how occurred. Have appointment in Autoglass Thursday. Only 1200 miles on speedo.....lovely!

Managed to crack my windscreen within a couple of hundred miles of purchasing and to compound the issue it was just before lockdown. Having looked online I was worried it wouldnt be an original BMW screen that Autoglass would fit but I needn't have worried, spoke with the technician and he confirmed it would be the original complete with BMW logo - Autoglass Edinburgh carried out a superb job with no issues.

I had a chip in mine after about 1,000 miles. Fortunately it was very low down on the passenger side. I got it repaired by a local firm. I drove up there one lunchtime and he repaired it whilst i chatted to him. Took less than an hour. He was like a drill he used before adding the resin.

I have heard that Bmw uses a softer glass than they used to . More prone to damage
