Make sure to get great exits, take advantage of the power of your car. And good entry (without sacrificing exit) using trail breaking |

I already had vorshlag camber plates, so all I needed were new spring perches. 6" springs with the helper springs raised my front by 15mm even at their lowest. We could've made it work by also raising the rear by 15mm to maintain rake, but we wouldn't have been able to get as much camber all around. Keep in mind A90/A91 front suspension isn't the same as the G2X, so your experience is unfortunately not a helpful data point for us.

Updated latest track day. Did an objectively fast lap on the hardest norcal track. Goes to show that sinking enough money into a bad chassis can still get you decent results.

Still watching this latest upload. Great driving. Pretty fast for a “phat family car”, lol. At least we have 4 doors compared to our athletic, skinny brother (A90).

Great driving! Hard to imagine this is all on 255s all around, but back in the day one could only dream of having a 255 sized tire too. The car appears to be well balanced, front-to-rear, as far as I could tell in the video...not too much understeer and loose when you want it. Nice work.

Thanks, and yeah the car's balance is really nice for me right now. Most of the understeer is due to overloading the front tires under braking though, so more rubber would help.

On a somewhat related note...any drawbacks to running the 9.5 ET25 with 255/35-19 all around on the street? Tramlining? Rears stick out too much?

I almost never run my track tires on the street, so I can't say definitively, but the car is more affected by the aggressive suspension setup more than the wheel/tires. The only thing I can tell you is that I rub on the driver side when reversing and turning to the right.

Major improvement in smoothness/consistency from your first to last session. Speculating here but you may suffer from the same beginner tendency as myself in overdriving the car your first session or two. It's a hard tendency to shake. What additional data does AIM give you? All your data looks the same as previous videos from what I can tell but maybe i'm missing something. |

As for my smoothness/consistency, I've gotten worse as I've gotten faster, and it's something I, my coaches, and my friends are trying to fix. I may have to invest in a good simrig to instill better habits. The key data point the canbus is giving is front and rear brake pressure, and I'm only using the front since it's doing most of the work. It also gives ABS which is useful to see how badly I'm overloading the fronts under braking (shows up as a blinking yellow light in the brake bar). I added which gear I'm in (inside the tach), but that was already kinda visible from the gopro pov. The AIM uses a 25ghz GPS so speeds and G meter are way smoother and more accurate. Lastly, I won't have to deal with OBD disconnecting every now and then. There's also other data that it provides like individual wheel rates, but I'm not savvy enough to make a widget for something useful. |

It's hard to imagine ABS not kicking in while under full brake pressure with a vehicle this size/weight. I would think it just comes with the territory of full brake application. Obviously avoiding abrupt and sudden brake application and unsettling the car is something to avoid>but what are you attempting to "fix" or adjust with reading the ABS data? Again . . thanks for sharing your experience. |

Forgot to post that I updated my latest track day video from this past weekend at Thunderhill 5-mile. Poor conditions coupled with barely any tread made for a fun event.
Also, I recently tested some wider fitments with APEX, and I'm excited to find out my car can fit 18x10 wheels squared. The JRZs being skinnier and the aggressive camber I have up front allowed the rear 18x10 ET38 wheel to clear the front struts with plenty of room (~5mm). Not sure when the new wheels will arrive, but I'll be running them with 275/35, probably sticking to RE-71RS for now. Running 18" wheels opens up a lot of tire options, so I'm likely going to run a different tire eventually. |

Shared some pics of the new wheel setup on my IG. My street tires were in the back seat so the rears might look a little slammed. One interesting note is that I gained some clearance in the wheel well due to 275/35-18 tires having a smaller diameter than 255/35-19. I no longer rub when reversing and turning the wheel. Shakedown will be next Saturday at Laguna.
