Transmission Super Jerky After Tune
Hello guys
First post here. A few months ago, I got a stage 1 tune for my G20 320i from a pretty reputable company. I like the extra power, and the car feels great in comfort mode. However, when I drive in sports mode with the automatic shift, the car becomes incredibly jerky at low speeds. It literally throws me off the seat. It feels like when you release the clutch too early on a manual car, but only that it does that jerk 3-4 times before it stops in my case. I spoke to the guys who did the tune, and, long story short, they were not very helpful. I'm thinking of taking the car to a different tuning service and getting their opinion on the matter, but I also wanted to post here to see if anyone has any insight into this. Thank you |

Sounds like they did not remap it properly, but messed (bigtime!) with the internal torque calculations. This is often something that is done when the tuner doesn't fully understand the torquemodel in the ECU - or tries to circumvent the gearbox torque limiters.

Is it bootmod tune? If so , you can now do a "TCU Patch" to remove torque limits - maybe that will help. Or else, maybe try xHP trans tune - it will remove Trans limits in gear, and allow for custom configuring shift points/pressure/blips/shift-speed/ect...
