G21 M Performance Roof Spoiler
Has anyone fitted one of these?
I saw one the other day (just in passing on a duel carriageway) and thought it looked really nice. I saw images on here a while back, but can't seem to find now? |

I have it on mine but I had it fitted by a body shop when it went in for Ceramic Coating as i didn't want to make a pigs ear of it.
It involves removal of the existing part above the rear window and re-fitting with the new. There are a few images in the link below from a number of cars linked to the forum. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...=m+performance

Pretty detailed instructions here
I've bought one, still sitting in a box until I decide what I do about the rest of the M Perf bodykit. The spoiler comes in gloss black only, which would match the rest of the Shadowline pack I have plus the other OEM M Perf parts. However, I'd prefer carbon accents, so still looking at any decent aftermarket carbon splitter, diffuser, etc. If I do find something decent I'll get the spoiler painted in the body paint (Dravit Grey) as it will be out of place in gloss black and there aren't really any aftermarket carbon spoiler options for the G21.

Thanks gents, think I'll do it. From the pics, reckon it'll go quite well with the shadowline pack anyway.

I had mine fitted by the dealer before I collected so can't help with fitting, but I would add that its delicate and despite my best efforts have swirl marks on it. Won't be an issue if you have it painted but even if you plan to keep it black I'd advise some coating to help protect it.

Been looking for a deal on one for ages as I refuse to pay £500+ for it. The rear diffuser and front grill was silly money as well but got a good deal on ebay from a BMW dealer. The search continues :-)

I have changed my G21 roof spoiler to M performance one, but looking back stick on add-on(as on a M3 G81) would have been a better option, cheaper and easier to install.

I've looked at the G81 one (part is Roof-edge spoiler primed - 51627889547), but they're not much cheaper than the full MP one, plus it would need painted. I suppose another option is the stick on Maxton one which also looks OEM from what I can tell

Bianchi Dave - yeah, the paint job requirement is what put me off. But in a hindsight I would have gone that way as I like better how it looks. AC Schnitzer sells really good kit as well - https://www.ac-schnitzer.de/en/bmw/8...1-touring-lci/
What I am curious at is why M3 G81 does not get M-performance roof spoiler standard and has to go with stick on part? And why M-performance one comes with a additional front "airdam" bolt on plank? Which the stick on parts do not require. |
