You'd really take a 440i over an M4?!?
I (kind of) did. Toss up was one of the last M4s, or this. But the old M4 was rock hard and quite tiring when you’re not in the mood. The M Performance range has taken it up a notch from the old 440/340 - quick and also comfortable when you’re NOT ‘on it’. A bit more like M cars used to be, before everything went #becauseracecar. Try one. 😀

Been there, done that over the last 18 or so years driving Bimmers. I'll stick with the M's.

Bulbous grill/front end. Has a silly look. Happy with my 2017 440i.

The grill in gloss black looks really good with the Arctic Race blue. Overall the new bold design differentiates it well from the 3 series.

This new design has made me excited enough to come back to BMW.

Understandably, this new grill is not for everyone. As long as "The 4" owners are happy with their choice is all that matters!

It appears that the new grille is for quite a few people. North American sales of the 4 series more than doubled in the first quarter of 2021, second only to sales of the 2 series cars which nearly tripled, while sales of the 3 series fell by 11%, and the Z4 was off by nearly 70%.

Second and third quarter year to year comparisons will not really be relevant as the pandemic affected production after the first quarter of 2020, but if these sales numbers continue, the haters are going to be very disappointed that the styling is being widely accepted and that BMW won’t be apologizing to them.

Yes from the looks of it, the all new 4 series is selling quite well, despite the new bold grills. The launch edition in my country is sold out and there's a 6 months wait to get my order from Germany.

Wow, I wasn't aware the new Z4 was off by 70%. The design and soft top just didn't do it for me after my E89 hard top and I left for 2 Audi before coming back. The 4 did the trick!
