Is headlamp QR code ABL is compulsory?

Hi everyone,

If replace lamps, and new headlamp has QR code, ISTA ABL is compulsory to make all functions work?

The QR has the classification resistor for the headlight. If the ABL is not completed the headlight will still have errors
