It's pretty much on point with what's been said about it. With it being a brand new car, the shifter does feel a bit rubbery (although I can already start to feel a difference now vs the first time I drove it), and the 1-2 shift is really hard to master. But other than that, carving up those mountain roads and switching back and forth between 2-3-4 was an absolute joy and put a smile on my face

Absolutely stunning combo, congrats on finally making your dream come true. I'm around the same age, and while I've always loved BMW since I was a kid, I had a similar moment when I skipped class to watch the unveiling of the E92 M3 concept car (who remembers Quicktime?).
To finally pick up that car years later was a day I'll never forget.

Thanks! And I so hope that's a reference to my earlier thread making fun about all the cliché things people say about their cars... because if so... well done

Awesome man!!! We have a similar story, grew up in the west suburbs near Chicago, my buddy had a e36 silver M3 with a Dinan tune and exhaust that he drove when we went to High School. I fell in love with the M3s ever since then and it’s been on my bucket list. Let’s meet up once I get the darn thing (hopefully by end of March)!

11 months wait??? So patient, many of you. I waited 10 weeks in April 2021, and that was torture.
But the car looks wonderful, the classy spec. Enjoy that beautiful car. I have a goddaughter in Chicago, so I'll be there a few times this year. We may cross paths at some meet or something (and who knows, I may even drive over in my G82 from MD. I've taken longer trips already in my M4 so...) |

Tell me about it.... I went through so many ups and downs during those 11 months - I wouldn't wish it upon anyone C'mon over! And don't forget the G82

The M3 was also my dream car and I still feel this way even after almost 1.5 years of ownership. Hands down one of (if not the) best car I’ve ever owned.

Wow, I forgot you had ordered an M3! Congrats. Beautiful color also.
I've got an M3/M4 on my bucket list also. Not sure if it'll be an E9x generation or new. But, I can't really afford either right now Fingers crossed, in a decade or so I'll have one in my garage.

Awesome story!!! Looks like you made all the right moves. Thanks for sharing.
GREAT build!!! PERFECT build!!! I'm green with envy...hey a play on words 😀 I love that you chose a manual instead of an automatic; your fun factor went from a would be 7 to an 11. Congratulations!!! Enjoy the ride. |

I love the color combination! I’ve been to the PCD but not for delivery. I just couldn’t deal with more delay after all of the “auto energy” fiasco
I think you captured the magic of finally spec-ing and owning a dream car. There are some who would downplay that around here bc they can either afford more or are just sort of negative nancys… I remember seeing my IOMG M3CX for the first time 2 months ago and it was a pinch me moment for sure. I really enjoyed reading your story for that reason. You truly made the whole thing an experience and will obviously continue to make owning this car an experience because you actually appreciate it. |
