Is everyone that's noticing the problem in an M340 and not a 330? Sorry if you already posted but it's hard to discern differences between car models if it's not listed under the username.
Just wondering if the extra weight of the M340 could be a contributor? |

2020 M340i xDrive here
Adaptive suspension 19" wheels w/ Michelin PS4S Software version 03.2020.30 Haven't been to the dealer yet (for obvious reasons). The suspension behaves completely fine in all other situations, so I can wait. |

You're probably right. I don't have access to the details of my suspension firmware though. Just sharing the specs of my car for comparison purposes.

I have the same problem with the "clunk" on my 330i when going over speed bumps at ~20 km/h or faster, under 20 km/h no problem. I have booked appointment at the dealer next week to ride togheter with an technican. Let's hope they can find and fix the problem.

It's solved!
I went to the dealer and ride togher with an technican, unfortunately we had trouble finding a "perfect" speed bump to test on. We drove around for 15 minutes on diffrent type of bumpy roads, but it was hard to re-create the clunk sound. So he didn't think it was any problem with the car or suspension and this was normal behavior. However he told me that my car needed 3 major ECU(?) updates and one of the updates was for driving assistane or something like that, the other two updates didn't he have any information about. So I let them update the car, took around 3-4 hours. When I finally drove away, I tested the "perfect" speed bump near my house and no "clunk" sound! Drove past it several times to make sure, and in higher speed, no problem, just simple smooth suspenion! The software of my iDrive was 07.2018 before the update, now it's 03.2020. But as someone said ealier in this thread, the FW for the ECU/control blocks are something else. Last edited by dmi2; 04-16-2020 at 03:00 PM.. |
