Paint scratch!

I have a jet black 2019 330i. I noticed a few scratches on my paint yesterday. It looks like the clear paint but I am not 100% sure. I am not sure how it got scratched near the top of the car. The scratch is not abrasive and the car is not dented. Will touch up paint fix this or does BMW cover paint? Have any of you had similar scratches?

If you can't feel it with your fingernail then it can likely be polished out. Contact a local detailer. Touch up paint makes things look worse a lot of times. Unless someone does it right by wet sanding and polishing after applying it.

That looks like scuff in the clear coat. You can even try polishing it by hand with abrasive polish.

If it isnt deep I would polish this out. Touch up paint for this kind of scratch can easily make things much worse than it is now.

Someone scratched my car cause he’s an idiot and can’t drive but I didn’t see it. Does anyone have advice as to what would happen if I don’t fix it. Also does anyone know of shops with a good price near Brooklyn, NY 11220. I prefer to fix it

Bumper is all plastic so it will not corrode. Nothing will happen to it if just leave it scratched as it is now... .

Garage List
That will polish out with either a machine polisher or by hand with the suitable cutting compound.
Machine polisher will be easier if you have one.

The scratch in this picture: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/pi...ictureid=72080 will definitely not go out with polishing. It's clear that the cut went all the way through the color to the bumper's plastic base layer.

To minimize the visual impact this can be painted with a careful touch-up paint job (Dr. color chip, or OEM touch up kit).

Before proceeding to the actual paint job, damaged area first needs to be polished, cleaned and degreased in order to mechanically remove the residues of the damaged paint and plastic bits that are sticking above the surface of the paint.
