The left paddle on my M340i’s steering wheel locked up

I'm not sure if this is common or not, assuming its not common at all, but my left gear paddle is completely jammed. I cant shift down with the paddle, its not even moving a millimeter. I'm sending in the car to get it checked and to get the oil changed.

I have not seen this one on the forums since I joined last summer, so probably not common. Just take it to the dealer to fix it.

The dealer called and said that the left paddle bracket snapped/broke. It's basically the plastic part that houses the spring mechanism for the paddle. It's covered under the warranty, but the parts are on order and wont come in for a few days. Hopefully I'll get my baby back before the weekend. The X1 base model is nowhere near as fun to drive.

That sounds like a legit issue. Do you use the paddles a lot? Also, was it stuck in the pulled-towards-you position (clicking to make the gear shift position, if you know what I mean)?
And you should ask them for a better car Our dealer here always gives us a car that is one better than what you have (when we went with the X3 for service, our loaner cars were a 440i, 535i, X5 and 530i).

Should pony up and get the carbon fiber M Performance paddles! They look awesome IMO

I dont really use the paddles, unless I'm trying to coax out some pops and bangs from my exhaust. haha But the paddle was stuck in the normal position, but will not budge when I try to pull it in.

That was what I was thinking, but they only offered a 2020 X1 28 spec. or a 2020 330i. I wasnt sure if that was a policy or if it was just word of mouth. Coming from a m340i, I was hoping for a 5 series or an x5.

I bet! but as this is a lease, the chances that I will keep this car is like 10%. My next car will be a purchase, which I will definitely put parts on. Not sure if I will be sticking with a m340i or taking the plunge and going for an M2.
