I don't think a lot of people realize that it's NOT leather or the flesh side of the leather hide called Suede. It's literally polyester and polyurethane. I don't like cheap polyester suits nor polyester in my car.
Whoa you agreed with me? You know who I am right? I just renamed my account

Even though I love my first gen 340i; I'm still intrigued enough to test drive the RWD model next summer for comparison.
I'm actually not surprised to see this narrow of wheel because they seem to optimize towards the small end to reduce weight as long as it fits the target tire width

I think what is disappointing is that they didn't go with wider tires,
Except a 225 wide tire is probably the max you'd ever want to go on a 7.5" wheel - 235 would be pushing it IMO. 225 is 8.86" lol - I imagine there'd be slight play/movement in the tire but RFT's stiffer sidewall probably helps

That's what I am saying though, they could still fit the 225 so they did the narrow wheel. I wish they would have done 245 front and 265 rear like the e9x and M2.

OMG, the front end. I'm not sure even a mother could love it. That, combined with the increased size of the G20 may well mean that there won't be one sitting in my garage.

To the average person off the street they wouldn't be able to tell the front end of this car from your 340i...

In certain shots it looks like a C Class Merc and the tail like a Lexus. A bit disappointing from BMW.

I was thinking maybe lower 3 seconds or perhaps upper 2 seconds too. No harm dreaming!!

I believe upgrade to leather is possible. Unfortunately the leather is still "coarse" leather- not the premium smooth leather that Mercedes or the higher BMW series use (including the M3).

I've no doubt it's upgradable, that's how they make money, it's just piss poor that they are lowering the bar on a flagship 3er (non full fat M)

If BMW officially says 4.2, just wait for the motoring press tests. Sub 4s for sure.

Crazy number. 20 years ago this was supercar territory.

Well when BMW says 4.2 it will be 4.2 for most people except the one odd outlier that posts the exceptional results in forums and makes it appear that all the cars are underrated.
Second, for a lot of people 91 octane is the most they can get. A lot of the dynos and results that are posted are with 93 octane that can make a difference. For e.g folks in AZ or CA don't get 93 at most pumps.
Another point is that these car journalists will often post those 0-60 with 1 foot roll out which is not what BMW uses, so comparing those numbers are like apples and oranges.
Finally, I have a strong suspicion that the 4.2s number is for the xdrive. For the RWD (that I believe a lot of the enthusiasts may be interested in) will have something like a 4.4s. Now even 4.4s is not bad at all- it's just that let's not make it appear better that what it really is.

In Europe they measure 0-100 kph which is equivalent to 62mph small difference which can result tens or two. Main page shows 4.2 0-60mph provisionally.
Besides that 4.2 sec. It's really good number, mine E90 M3 couldn't make this number, even mine F80 MT barely could make it.
AWD is what I love because you don't struggle with traction.
The M340 Xi will be a beast with tune and other mods

I am not sure about front disc size being 348 mm, because on F30 with M sport brakes front disc size is 370 mm.
