I believe that is the G80 front end that is photographed (...and it is eerily close to the official Bimmerpost photoshop). The G22 bumper will look different.
I believed him, but there's "toned down" in a good way - and there's "toned down" not in a good way - as is the case here.
BTW, I doubt that the G80 would have intakes smaller than current models.

The horizontal grille slats do make some sense on an essentially vertical grille, but it does contradict the usual M grille...

Rear isn't horrible, but that front is hideous. Hope they don't end up looking like this.

Yes but other models will offer distinguishing mesh in its lifecycle.

Completely flat and completely vertical. So ugly. Horizontal grill lines just make it even worse. Should be a mesh of some sort.

I'm sure it will be the fastest and most advanced M3 ever but it's going to look like a steaming pile if these leaks are correct.

we have to see it in real life....but a tfirst sight I don't like it. Maybe it'll grow on us in few time...but it's such a big change that we're don't use to.

it's a bet for BMW, win or fail. we'll see the verdict.

Other full M models?? Or are you referring to the M Performance versions of all models which will indeed be getting the mesh treatment?

Maybe the M2?!

It would be a shame though to add new M grille styles to the now well established double slat M grille, unless maybe if associated with particular versions (CS, CSL...).

M4 too?

Can you confirm the G80 M3 and G82 M4 will go official at the same time, immediately after the G22 4 Series? Or will the M3 be made official earlier, before both the G22 and G82?

I find myself looking at older designs more now, I currently think the previously dated (imo) e92 M3 now looks classically elegant, id probably keep my M4CS and add an e92 competition for a similar cost to “upgrade” to the G80/2

It's appropriate that those grilles look like twin coffins, because my 20 straight years of BMW ownership needs a burial

BMW is just testing out how cult-like their customer base is.

"How ugly can we make the car and still convince these people to buy it?"

I think, in terms of the front grill, BMW is actually trying to modernize it's original design as well as some old concept cars.

This is my plan, I moved to the M4 Comp from an E92 M3 and as long as I wasn't dailying it and got to enjoy taking it out for a skelp rather than drudging along in traffic I think i'd have one as a keeper.
