Hate me as you like... If you like it, don’t get it. If you think it looks like an Audi then maybe you like Audi’s better (or MB or anything else etc). At least it’s new and not a clone of another make. If they kept it as a minor update the tone here would be boo too similar vs boo too much change. Ultimately you pay for what you want, aka to each their own. I don’t mind it. Would I get it? No, because I like four doors, love my 5. But my partner loves his 440 and this to come — it looks futuristic and different. A departure from what we’re accustomed to seeing, sure, hideous, it is not.

Good looking cars for their time but by today standards look a bit unmodern tbh.
Biggest issue with the E46 series was the front bumper and back bumper looked out of place on the car. The fitting of the panels and the enormous panel gap between the "Main body" of the car the attachments that was the back and front bumper. It rivaled Teslas panels gaps in the beginning of their cars when they first came. They simply look like the designers made the body of the car and said ah man this is boring its Friday lets just slap a front bumper and back bumper on the car and be done with it. You can see it on the hood line right below the kidneys the main body of the car just stops there. That always bothered me about the E46. Always remembers this on the E46 when passing by them on the freeway or being passed by them i always remembering letting out a small laugh when looking at the front bumper of the car where it attaches to the wheel arches it always came loose and had a larger panel gap there then the rest of the car. The E90 series will always be a fond memory especially the coupé because the back end looked so different compared to the 5 door option. Witch is what made it look so great from so many angles. It is today still on of the better looking bimmers out there. It is aging well but it is starting to get old i am sure we will see on these forums if they survive for another 20 years when someone post something like "I restored an old E90 Bimmer to its former glory" to only be met by your own thoughts thinking this ain't an old car but realizing its been almost 32+ years sens it was released. The thing about today cars and the buyers that want to buy cars not talking specifically about the folks here at bimmerpost or some other car forum site is, the idea of a car is changing and its changing fast, most companies knows this and need to adapt fast, i can assure you when the time comes the cars or what we will call cars will just be a fancy gadget like an smartphone and such that is why we are seeing companies today tech companies creating cars, because the auto industry is in a crisis that they really don't want to talk about so much is that cars are getting older i terms of being a technology, especially ICE engines. That's why the younger crowd who is spawned by us tbh (not talking about my self cause i have no children) but those that do have children, their children not talking about all ofc, some are interested in cars as we are, but most of them they want a car to be a cool gadget that they can change over time by updates etc.. Thats where Tesla is in the forefront they have made sure the car is a gadget just like the Iphone or the Galaxy Smart watch or such. And that is what has attracts the amount of costumers that are going for a Tesla, and there is not enough enthusiasts out there to buy cars to keep a car company like BMW floating or alive without firing employees, so what you guys are seeing now is a huge shift in the market where every tech company out there will be able to make a car. For better or for worse.

Agree. I think the RS5 is beautiful so I'm not totally against it!

There's 2 cars I believe, oddly both the same colour. One is in the middle of 2xi3's and the other is at the side of the ship next to an i3.
Definitely production.

The taillights looks very plain, pretty much the 8-Series version, with the same Altezza-clear LED brakes, shrunken down to size..
They could of done so much more with the advent of modern day LEDs and even OLED, which affords endless possibilities, since LEDs shade, brightness and distribution of light can be controlled to perfection, which makes for not only technically-useful lighting but also soothing, uplifting or energising mood lighting, such as the "dancing" individual OLED pedals in the M4 CS. Automotive lighting are basically the car's jewelry, which adds a little signature flair to that specific model it's attached to, so BMW could been a little more creative in it's designing a more bespoke unit for the 4-Series taillights, instead of copy and pasting the same, generic, red-diffused "swoop" layout . Hopefully, there's a revamp styling, with the LCI.. #Sad #MissedOpportunity Keep in mind, US-Spec taillights would more than likely be slightly different that this, in terms of physical output appearance and operation, especially in regards to the brake and turn signals, from the ROW-version, due to the US's photometric size requirements. https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=24680672 |

It sticks out like an RC. I agree. Too bad the front end wasn't as functional or tasteful.
