this is exactly my issue. if i wanted a car that looked like an audi, id go buy a friggin audi. stupidest idea a car company ever had was to mimic another brands look. now guess what, people r just gonna go buy audis design cause at least they did it right.

this is a sham. total fail by bmw and thank u for showin me that i should be takin my F80 and swapping into a F80cs.

The rear looks fine, the grille looks like it was placed over the actual one. I.E, it's a trap, it's fake, no bueno!

BMW really losing themselves hella G80 customers bc of that grill. All they had to do was make a mini version of the M8 as the new M3/M4 and it would sell like hot cakes

Starting to appreciate my G20 a bit more now.... I was so stumped on taking the gamble and ordering the G20 3er before waiting for the coupe 4 to be unveiled but I couldn't wait... in my opinion I'm not a fan of that design language.

The grilles are fookin massive - no one will be able to afford a set of black ones if they want to start the mods off!

As I said earlier The M Sport Packet is a toned down version of the front of the concept car. And the car is finished in the launch colour of Arctic Race Blue.
I know it's flooding in DC just now, but I had hoped the floods would have subsided in this forum by now.
You will love this car when it arrives. It answers the most direct complaint that US automedia mention about BMW and its too "conservative" appearances. It brings presence, character and power.
And it won't be mistaken for anything else.

Maybe a higher level of trim provides more sparkles on the grill? :

I would say they are an updated version of the E92s rear lights.
Which the above brands then interpreted for their own competitors.

while I don't disagree that it may grow on me, I'm not sure anyone was making that complaint about the M models? it's often that ppl say the F80/82 exterior looks great

The first time I'll opt to have a license plate installed, maybe put the rear upfront as well...

As for cheap look I think that’s due to the 2D view of a photo. IRL I suspect a significant 3D shape making it look a bit more premium and modern.
I'm unfortunately not that sure the rear lights will look less cheap IRL. Seeing the rear lights of the new 3er, X4 or even 8er in person, it doesn't look modern and posh/classy to me. The shape isnt't my style (very "ungerman") and the white/grey part makes it look like some rear light designs in the 90s. I prefer a mostly red colored rear light design.

I hope your Jedi tricks are strong.

I also can't recall anyone complained the F32 or F8X was too conservative. If anything the media complained of the sound of that car (F8X), which does not seem to be addressed as radically as the design appears to be.

I wasn't talking specifically about the F32/F82. But the reaction to cars like the 7 and 5 singled out that they did not like the styling as it was mundane and conservative.
The new ones are anything but.

And these new rear lights look somehow cheap and pretty dated to me (e.g. compared to the very modern looking new Audi rear lights).

But in general the new 4er could look good, though.
You see nothing BMW-like about it? And it looks Asian/cheap? You Croatians are very homogeneous aren't you? If you care so much about the light design, then just go get an Audi.

It follows the same shape as the 8 series.

Kinda similar overall theme as the G20.

And not too dissimilar from the F30 LCI.

Audi spends too much time making pretty lights. They should concentrate more on a fun to drive car.
